I think the host must have been a traveller himself, as there was a lot of attention given to small (but important) details such as sockets by the bedside, racks to dry towels and store your stuff, tea, water, toiletries and some tasteful decorations that really made this place feel more like home rather than just a "place to stay". (Ps - none of these are a given everywhere in Sri Lanka). The host was also kind enough to let us stay past the checkout time, as one of our friends wasn't feeling well. Overall - Excellent value for money, would have stayed longer if I could.

There is a private bathroom with bidet in some units, along with bathrobes, slippers and free toiletries. At the guest house, some units are soundproof. Stayed here 2 days. Wish we stayed longer. The location is amazing, quiet but very close to the beach. The room is very spacious and very nice. The outdoor bathroom was the biggest selling point. The lady that owns it is SUPER nice.

The Surf Lodge is beautifully decorated with a lot of love and taste. It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. The villa has a peaceful, positive atmosphere, and the breakfast was delicious. We shared so many unforgettable moments together—learning Sinhala, cooking, swimming, riding scooters, watching sunsets, and even releasing baby turtles into the sea.

Great location, right by the beach! The beach is great for a swim and less than a 5min walk to Turtle point where you can snorkel and see fish and turtles! Great and varied breakfast with a view. The room is beautifully designed and was kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay!
