He was the reason why I booked this and he is the reason why I will book eith him again when I come back to Kuching - The location is great! Located on the other side of the river in a more residential area, it's not so touristy and it's a cool feeling staying with the locals. Getting to city center only takes a 2-minute walk and a one-minure boat ride for 3 Ringgit. - The house is clean and very convenient. The rooms are spacious - Zek has cats that greet you every morning when you step out if the house door (they are outside and not IN the homestay) - The price is fantastic and there is a free water refilling station, coffee, tea, and so on. - Please treat Zek with the same amount of kindness with which he treats you :)

He provided me with all the information about where to go, what to do, and he also offered some tours in beautiful places like the Bengo Dam and the caves. The location is good, very close to the waterfront, which can be reached on foot and then by jetty (only 1 RM! Last ride: 6 pm - afterwards you either take a grab or walk about 30 min until the Darul Hana bridge). It's very safe and the people are incredibly friendly. I was stopped on the street by little children who greeted me and asked for my name! The rooms are comfortable, and the cats are lovely!

What makes this place special is that Sam and his wife go out of their way to accommodate you. Sam even arranged a personal guide and driver arranged for a national park that was far away. Lots of inexpensive, good Chinese and Malaysian good in the area. Also a good spot to meet other backpackers, to split tours and friendship of course! I would definitely stay again!
