Well equipped and warm in the winter. Great welcoming location on the right side of town for the Hot Springs and Wildlife Preserve. Aurora viewing was so easy when you can simply step outside and look up.

The staff were very nice and the house is super neat. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the nice walking trail nearby that they helpfully had a GPS route for.

Owned by a lovely German-Japanese couple, this house lies a little outside of the town centre in a quiet residential area. We stayed for four nights in a large room on the first floor with a private bath (including bath tub and a separate shower) as well as a nice sitting area and big windows from which you can see northern lights if you are really lucky (like we were). The owners live in the same house, but private rooms are on a different floor. Everything is very clean and spacious. You can have really good breakfast, e.g. including tasty bread (up to german standards), eggs, fresh fruits, and coffee. Always a great start into the day for us. The owners are helpful if you have any questions regarding sightseeing (e.g., northern lights) and generally try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For us, this was not just a nice stay but downright a very positive experience.
