Very clean room in a nice located area. The hospitlity was very nice. The owners are very kind. Breakfast was very delicious, so many options to choose from (sweet, savoury,...). A gem in Monschau’s Altstadt – peaceful, charming, and perfectly equipped We absolutely loved our stay at Refugium Altstadt. The location is ideal—right in the heart of the old town, yet peaceful. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with thoughtful amenities and incredibly comfortable beds. Everything was spotless, and the coffee machine was a real highlight! The hosts were responsive, helpful, and very polite throughout. We were especially grateful to be allowed an early check-in for a small fee, which gave us a chance to rest and recover from jet lag. A perfect stay—we would return in a heartbeat.

This is a wonderful apartment in a quiet location. We stayed for 6 days over Christmas and very much enjoyed our time there. The host was very welcoming and the apartment was beautifully furnished with high quality modern fittings. The owner clearly has a good eye for interior design. It was spotlessly clean and every possible need was catered for. There were also a lot of really nice extra touches like travel packs, sewing kits, coffee, biscuits etc. Clearly a lot of thought was given to what a traveller might need. The coffee machine, fridge, dishwasher and microwave were all a godsend. There was a wonderful bathroom, shower, wet room area with lots of space which was a real luxury. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well throughout our stay. It is a very good location for visiting neighbouring towns and cities, such as Monschau and Aachen. There was a parking space provided in front of the apartment. Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would highly recommend.

The location on the map was great. Located in a calm village. Easy and short rides to supermarkets and sightseeing. The lakes 15 minutes away. A nice neighbourhood shop was available at a short walkable distance. Free parking available. Very friendly, helpful and attentive owners. They provided a baby bed and a baby chair. And a little surprise which was very thoughtful of them. Very clean. Spacious. Okay bed. Nice with separate blankets. Big and handy closet for hanging clothes.

It's a large, new apartment in a great location. It's well equipped, well maintained and tidy. The kitchen even has some spices, oil and wine glasses. The bathroom is large, clean with plenty of storage space. The pictures do not do the apartment justice. From the windows you have the views of the lake and the hills surrounding a picturesque village.
