The surroundings were wonderful. The wildlife was entertaining and the antics of the squirrels and birds were a joy to watch. The accommodation was clean and bright and the bed very comfortable. The milk, bread and eggs were a thoughtful gift.

Everything! The property is stunning and finished to a very high standard. Everything has been thought of (even spare wellies for having a muddy wander around). Nick and Kiri are so accommodating. The area is peaceful, and being able to spend time with the animals was an extra special touch. There are family games provided, and substantial channels on the TV if you are so inclined. I cannot rate this property highly enough!

Angus and Claire were the perfect hosts. Extremely friendly and very helpful. They made us feel right at home, while also giving us plenty of privacy. While the house was lovely, the outside space was so peaceful overlooking the lake. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to family and friends. Hopefully Angus and Claire will travel to Ireland in the future xx

My needs were functional - I had a close relative in Barnstaple hospital, but I also needed to work online during the day. The Shippon has turned out to be my perfect home from home - so much so that I extended my original 5 nights to be 2 weeks. Lovely people. lovely place right on the doorstep to your leavy lane walks excellent location 20 mins leisurely stroll into Barnstaple along the river. Lovely walk (leavy lanes and roadside) to a really nice pub(dog friendly in next village. lots to do and see in the area. We returned for our second year.

Nice quiet location in a small village. The annex has been thought through so well by the owners, everything needed for a perfect stay. Nice to have some basic food items provided, always good to have a cuppa on arrival. The owners live on sight and provided useful local information.

Immaculate. Cleanest ever holiday cottage. We had everything we needed. We were in an ideal location. The owners were so nice. Greeting us on arrival and said goodbye when we left and made sure we had a nice time. The welcome pack was so nice scones, jam and cream and fudge. There was tea, coffee and sugar and milk. The television was decent, bed was comfortable. Decorated to a high standard!

Well furbished new spacious and modern holiday home with everything you need, including parking spot in front of the house. Great location for visiting surroundings as it is really close to Ilfracombe town and beach and Exmoor National Park. Hosts are vey friendly and from the house you have a great view at the sheep and alpaca's, who are very entertaining. Kiri gave us a great tip to visit Valley of the Rocks, which we really liked and recommend.

Location was lovely with good walks from the property. The freshly made bread by Jane the host was beautiful; great with the homemade jam and fresh coffee! The bed was so comfortable. Small grocer shop in the village with all essentials and a weekly fish and chips van calls at the village every Friday night. What more could you want?
