Beautiful setting, very kind hosts, comfortable. Meals were great and plenty. Three nights was a great idea, you get to relax and enjoy Japan at a different pace. Lots of walk in the countryside. We were very happy with our choice, off the beaten path, but very easy to get to.

Our entire stay was beautiful from beginning to end. My partner and I travelled across Japan for around two weeks, and this might have been our favourite place to stay. The location, the staff, the room and the meals were exceptional. My favourite part were the facilities and the kindness of the staff. I have never felt so welcome as a customer and as a guest! We reached Takao station by bus, and there was someone there from the hotel waiting for us to take us by shuttle to the ryokan. The ryokan itself located in a beautiful location near the river and Jinkoji temple. The area itself is a hidden gem, serene and far from the crowds of Kyoto. The service was amazing, the food, the room and the view from the outdoor bathtub.
