Spectacular restored Victorian decor—lots of room; comfortable bed; excellent communication with host; easy access to Catlins area. On the host's recommendation, we dined at the Lumberjack cafe (reservations required) - a truly spectacular meal. Overall, great value for the money.

This property is absolutely stunning. The location is fabulous with amazing view and only the sound of sheep and birds. Well equipped with everything you need and a very comfortable bed. There is also a great BBQ out on the deck.

Guests staying at Catlins Newhaven Holiday Park are a 5-minute walk from Surat Bay, a long sand beach in Newhaven, where you may be lucky enough to see a Hooker Sea Lion.

It was spacious, had everything we needed in the cabin and on top a big kitchen and bbq to use for everyone. From the park we could see the see lions. There‘s even a coffee shack next door. Just perfect.

This is a beautiful location with really lovely hosts. Waking up to the sounds of birds was great. And then hearing the playful donkeys asking for breakfast later in the morning was fun too. But the accommodation was a perfect location for a quiet getaway while being close to a lot of the natural beauty attractions in the area.

Everything was lovely and the views from the unit were amazing. Our bedroom was great with a comfortable king bed and great shower/bathroom. Everything was very clean and the hosts were very friendly without being intrusive. We were the only guest so had the common area to ourselves as well and enjoyed the excellent included continental breakfast. Highly recommend The Salty Bushman for your stay in The Catlins.

Coming to Kaka Point for the second time, I didn't hesitate to choose this apartment again. It was still as warm and clean as before. The next morning, I met the landlord and had a brief chat. He was also a gentle and friendly person. It's undoubtedly the top choice for accommodation in Kaka Point.

Apartment had wonderful views, was spacious, and clean. Kitchen utensils were top-notch, knives were sharp which isn’t usually the case! Host was frequently in touch before my stay, and it was very helpful to point out that the only restaurant in town was closed on Sunday, so we could be prepared well before we arrived.

Jenny was so very welcoming (I didn't have the opportunity to see Mike but I'm quite sure he would have been too!). Wonderful comfortable unit with sea view. Couldn't have asked for more. Very handy for exploring the Catlins but I would recommend to also just take the time to relax at this very special place.
