Monique & Norbert are the nicest people you’ll ever meet, and their 2 daughters Nikka and Kara are just the cutest. I spent 3 nights at their house and it felt like being at home. Monique’s homemade food is delicious and having dinners with the family in the evenings was a highlight. I was so sad to leave and wish I could have stayed longer. I also recommend doing their twin lakes tour, it was one of the best parts of my trip! Thanks so much Monique & Norbert, I hope we can meet again one day.

The host is realy friendly and welcoming. He also works in the local tourism and thus knows great places to visit apart from the gorilla trekking. Our car broke down the morning we wanted to leave and he was a great help with getting the right mechanics.

It's really more of a homestay, which I personally appreciated. The host helped me with an excellent last minute trip to the twin lakes on the day of arrival and the two lovely girls working there took excellent care of me during the entire stay. Delicious breakfast and outstanding dinner. Secure parking and as a bonus a lovely dog (stays outside, well groomed, likes pets but is okay if you don't feel like it). All in all, highly recommended!

It is not easy to find nice value for a price near the Volcano National Park in Rwanda. Isange Hotel is just like that. Of course, it takes time to travel to the main gate, but one or another way you'll be on your own transport there. Perfect location, surrounded by magical vulcanoes and in a lush garden. Once you enter the house, you feel being at home at friends because everyone is welcoming and caring. It is not only easy to interact with the owner and the staff but also with other guests over dinner which allows you to meet interesting people. The room was perfect, huge, nicely decorated and with a large veranda with view on Sabinyo.
