Absolutely beautiful hotel with an extremely friendly and helpful staff. The lobby is just stunning, as is the breakfast room. Plus there are three hotel cats (not street cats) and even a hotel tortoise! Their recommended spot for overnight parking was at the Archeaological Museum, which was convenient and worked great.

I was sold on Dar Hkaïem from the reviews here on Booking as well as on HostelWorld, and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Toutou is an incredible host who was flexible in allowing me to check in early, helped me arrange transport, cooked amazing breakfasts (and dinner) even during Ramadan when he himself was fasting. From the personalized cookies (amazing!) upon arrival to the moment I left and even beyond, it was clear that Toutou wanted to ensure my stay was comfortable and memorable. We even went to a café one evening with his friend and played card games, which was one of the highlights of my entire trip to Tunisia. As for the guesthouse itself, the decor is great, the space is clean, and my room was cute, comfortable, and safe. Centered around a center courtyard, there are only a few guest rooms (my first night, I was the only guest), a toilet, shower room, and small kitchen. I was also happy that my room was big enough to allow me to unroll my yoga mat with some space to spare. I have friends who live in Tunis and emphatically recommended Dar Hkaïem to them...and I recommend it to you, too!

The property is in a very quite and beautiful neighborhood and 10 min from a very beautiful beach. The apartment was clean and big, AC working perfectly. Don’t miss the sunrise and sunset from the amazing rooftop and to chill in the terrace in the evening. The room is very clean and the bed is comfortable. They gave me a room at the top floor and the roof has a nice view of the city. The staffs did a great job and the breakfast is very good. They added cheese in my omelette and the coffee is good. No TV, but wifi is working well. Warm water take a few mins to be ready. They also have a restaurant one minute walk away.
