Zeer fijne gastvrouw: ze sprak weinig Engels maar met lichaamstaal erbij verstonden we elkaar. Gezien de hitte die dag liet ze ons zelfs 'uitzonderlijk' het zwembad van haar zoon gebruiken, een verfrissing die wij heel dankbaar aangenomen hebben. We hadden een ruime kamer, het avondmaal was heel verzorgd, we aten samen met de andere gasten wat ook voor een fijn contactmoment zorgde. We kregen een 'heel uitgebreid' lunchpakket mee op onze wandeltocht en ze stond vroeg op om ons nog van koffie te voorzien voor ons vertrek. Super vriendelijk en hartelijk dus!

The hosts are very nice and kind people. They speak fluent English and helped us a lot with planning our next days. The food was excellent. The place, the people, the food and the environment - it all exceeded our expectations.

The staff were a family that were extremely kind and always helpful and hospitable a loving manifestation of the Albanian spirit of hospitality even without perfect english for the non Albanian speaking people they somehow managed to communicate effectively and leave a lasting impression on most guests i saw there besides me that is an albanian Speaker.As for my experience they made me feel like im actually home and part of the same family and i felt like i was in my own home I will definitely come again.The location is also mesmerizing and excellent located very centrally so you have access to various parts of the village in similar walking distances.

Alle kamers bij het pension hebben een balkon. * Helpful owner, he packed breakfast and lunch for us (included in the price of the room) so that we could start hiking early and arranged dinner for us at a local family guesthouse the night we arrived. * location is beautiful: beautiful view of the valley and this side of the mountain is unspoiled compared to Theth. Hiking to Theth from here is around 10-12 km (~5km less than from Valbona) and takes about 4-5 hours.

Vila Alexander is several kilometers away from Valbona which is trying to turn itself into a groovy "scene". Pretty much car dependant, but local shuttles do stop nearby. Read all the details about location and policies, and there won't be any surprises.

Guesthouse Skender Selimaj heeft een tuin, een terras, een restaurant en een bar in Valbonë. Voor een drankje kun je terecht bij de snackbar. Amazing hosts. Made us feel welcome and gave us good inside knowledge and advice on all things Albania. The food for breakfast and dinner was great with it all being fresh and locally produced. The room was simple but had air-conditioning which is an absolute game changer. Hosts even went the extra mile and dropped us off at the start of the hike to save us some energy. I have nothing bad to say about this spot :)
