You can walk to the site along the Mopan river too. Dominic was very welcoming and informative, pointing out birdlife and telling us about the history of the areas. It's a working farm, so be prepared for the sounds of a farm!

Loved everything about our stay here, it was pure perfection. If it’s available, do not pass up the opportunity to experience it. The lodge is beautiful and so well designed and presented, with lovely homely touches, clean spacious shower room, comfortable bed and bedroom with cracking aircon, great outdoor seating area, in all just cannot fault it. Communication with Hadas/Dusty was spot on, Hadas also arranged for us to do bird watching and cooking onsite with Flora, both of which were great experiences. On arrival we were met by Willy and Stinky who are both adorable and so friendly, they spent a lot of time with us when we were there! Willy was also a great swimming buddy in the river. Facilities in the lodge were second to none and also catered for our unstated needs! Fully stocked kitchen and a bonus of running bottled water. Having the river there to both cool down in and sunbathe by was a bonus and well used with the humidity at the time we stayed. The location was perfect for us, far enough from town to be remote and only a few mins drive into civilisation. Albert, the main man on site in the day, was lovely and friendly and we had some good conversation with him. The security here is also good, with an electric entrance gate and non intrusive cameras, but Willy and Stinky were the best security, making sure you knew about any movement even remotely near the property! They also slept outside our room on a night, ready and waiting for a breakfast treat in the morning! So cute. If you’re not a dog lover though, they won’t bother you, so please don’t be put off by them being there.

Hilltop Horizon Guesthouse se encuentra en San Ignacio, a 11 min a pie de Cahal Pech, y ofrece servicio de conserjería, habitaciones libres de humo, piscina al aire libre, wifi gratis en todo el... "The Dog Momma" as she is known because of her group that helps lady street doggies also REALLY helped me out during my stay halfway up the hill in San Ignacio. She personally took me to three places to try to get cash out or cash back because I was having difficulty with the pin on my VISA cards! This was service above and beyond!

The house and Hadas’s design touch are boho Belize!!! Loved it all!!

Absolutely loved our stay - this is a slice of paradise! Larry and Melanie were some of the best hosts we’ve ever had, they’re proud of the Belizean culture and history and we learnt so much from Larry while eating Melanie’s amazing meals. We basically stayed on site for the 3 nights we were there. We booked our tours through Larry and had the best tour guides Francis and Dan! Both so knowledgeable and caring. Definitely make sure eat at least once at this place, it was great! The place: We stayed in the biggest one bedroom unit. Beds are great quality, super comfortable and sturdy. The bathroom was really big which had a beautiful shower with a wee jungle view. While the pressure is a little low, it had a big enough shower head that we didn’t mind at all. Hot water everyday! The bath was amazing after a long day of walking. A big balcony with a hammock that overlooks the pool was a delight especially when it was raining. Beautiful walk down to the river where we saw toucans flying around. Saw a howler monkey for dinner and a gibnut lounging at the back of the property. Thank you Larry, Melanie and team for the memories 🙏

Licensed 2 bedroom cabin Close to San Ignacio, local dining, and adventure tours, que tiene vistas al jardín, ofrece alojamiento con balcón y cafetera, y está a unos 15 km de El Pilar. Such a nice family and location to stay. Very good descriptions of things to do, with or without official tours.

Santa Cruz Cabins está a 4,2 km de Cahal Pech y ofrece jardín y terraza, así como alojamiento con aire acondicionado, balcón y wifi gratis. I stayed at Santa Cruz Cabins with two of my friends and we had a wonderful stay! The cabin was super comfy and clean but the highlight was definitely the hosts, Tony and Juliet. They were so welcoming and provided us with tons of really useful information on the area. The cabins are about a 30 minute walk from San Ignacio but as 3 young women we felt safe walking to and from the town along the main road both during the day and in the evenings. The highlight was the home-cooked, local breakfasts made by Tony and Juliet every morning. They brought them right up to our cabin to enjoy on the screened in porch and explained all the local ingredients and dishes that they prepared. If you are planning any trips/tours around San Ignacio definitely reach out to Tony and Juliet and they can connect you with really reliable transport, guides, etc.
