Takako is an amazing host who made feel very welcomed. The dinner she cooks is so tasty, I was looking forward to it every day. The place is simple and authentic which I liked a lot, and is kept super clean. I also liked the location as it is very calm and 15 minutes walk to a more secluded beach which has nice sunsets. It’s also very convenient that you can directly rent a bike and snorkeling gear, I used that to explore the island and snorkel and several spots.

The property is non-smoking and is set 1.1 km from Tower of Peace. This was our most favorite stay of our whole Japan trip. The main reason for this was that it's a homestay. Our host Takago was sooo great, super super friendly, funny, cool & an amazing cook. Plus we got to meet many other nice travellers there and it was always a nice place to be. The food she cooked for us was amazing and super authentic. The island is small and you can walk almost everywhere. The island itself looks like it's a bit deserted. The houses aren't pretty and there isn't much, so don't be repelled by this. We were a bit suspicious at the start but in the end it was our very favorite thing!

Takaka-san is a very helpfull and sweet host and great cook. The traditional Japanese house has everything you need from snorkel gear to beach towels to a washing machine. It's not so far from the port, we rented bicycles but the hills are quite steep so the bus would also be an option. We really wished we could stay longer because it felt like paradise! Also, Kiki the cat is very cute.

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel in Tokashiki. The staff, just two people, were incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain everything about the hostel and the island. They were always ready to answer any questions, including practical tips like where to rent electric bikes to explore the island. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a pleasant temperature. Overall, it was a very welcoming and relaxing stay. I recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Tokashiki and is on budget!

Located on the beautiful Zamami Island, Guesthouse Iyonchi is a 5-minute walk from Zamami Port. A beach can be reached within a 15-minute walk. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property.

Some rooms come with a TV and refrigerator. There are shared showers on site. Some rooms have a private toilet. Iyo and his wife, Tomo were incredibly kind and welcoming!! The twin room is well designed (neutral colors, wood & tatami floor are inviting) w private bath (good flow of hot water in shower). Snorkel gear and beach towel are for rent; Just down the road from our favorite Restaurant Marumiya!! They let us store our luggage and take the snorkel gear & beach towel to Furazamami after checkout, as we were heading back on the afternoon ferry.

Located in Tokashiki and only 3.7 km from Teruyama Observatory, STAY IN ALOHA provides accommodation with quiet street views, free WiFi and free private parking. This apartment offers a garden. The property is non-smoking and is set 4.8 km from Aharen Observatory. Our family stay at Aloha was lovely. Although the weather was quite rainy, the space was nice for hanging out, making food (bbq was a nice touch) and enjoying the rental. The yard is quite nice with yoga platform, swing, and shaded porch. We rented a vehicle from the folks next door and that experience was great. The rental is convenient to small market and convenience store, and easily accessible from the ferry.
