Prima ontbijt met voldoende keuze uit alle soorten eieren en diverse koffie en sapjes. Als je vroeg weg gaat voor een trip kan je een ontbijt box meekrijgen en die is meer dan goed gevuld met heerlijk fruit en yoghurt. De sevice is hier top! Zoals vrijwel overal in Cambodja zijn de bedden enorm hard, maar de eigenaar heeft meteen een extra topper geregeld, wat een service!

Absolutely amazing stay in Siem Reap -- the place and staff were so friendly, helpful, and serene that it was hard to leave and explore the city. From the initial greeting with tea and snacks, to the daily choice of breakfast, to the staff who remembered and greeted you everywhere, to the recommendations and assistance planning activity, to the beautiful rooms and swimming pool and plants, I could not have asked for more.

Big shout-out to the hotel manager, William, who was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. He was so friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Rick and the rest of the team were fantastic too! We were well cared for from the time of booking to check-in and up till check out. It was like staying at a Bonvoy or Hyatt but much more personable. Finer details from handmade tea, generous amount of welcome fruits, mozzie repellent, double sliding doors for noise protection etc. All these little details truly set it apart from other places at this price point. The room was large and so tastefully decorated with local art, flowers and handmade flowers. The kitchen had all the basic utensils and even olive oil, if you want to do light cooking. The rain shower was a delight and the bathtub was amazing!! The bathroom was so tastefully done that it inspired me for my own home. The location was great. It may not be located right smack in the "city centre" but it's merely a 10-15 walk away along the river under shaded trees. This also means you're able to get a quiet night since it's away from the hustle and bustle. The entire propert felt tranquil and zen - as you would hope for a city famous for its temples... Next to the hotel are a couple of local, small food stalls and coffee shops (Domo was excellent). There's also a small convenience store for basic items. We had our laundry done at the hotel at an affordable rate by weight! None of this price-by-piece nonsense - who needs dry cleaning for a holiday in Siem Reap? It's a shame that we didn't get to use the salt-pool as it had such a tranquil vibe to it. I can keep going on and on about how lovely Maison Leab was but you may think I'm exaggerating (I'm not!) You will not regret staying here.

Sothea Angkor Homestay is gelegen in Phumi Ta Phul, op 1,7 km van King's Road Angkor, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een terras en een restaurant. Phirom is an excellent host. He picked up from the airport in his car and managed our four day trip, even arranged a car to Phnom Penh. His wife Sothea looked after our food requirements 😳.

Meta, the owner of the homestay, was the most amazing man. He welcomed me into his home and family and showed me around his country with passion and joy. He gave me personal tours of Angkor Wat and the floating village on Tonle Sap lake. I stayed in a little private bungalow that had the sweetest porch, a fan inside to keep cool, and hot water. If you need anything, Meta or his family, is there to help in an instant. The property is 30 minutes from town but Meta will arrange a tuk tuk easily or I rented a bike to make it easy. Staying at Kakrona Pouk homestay let me experience true Cambodian life and I am forever grateful.

So so authentic, peaceful, and warm. It was one of our favorite experiences in Cambodia as we travelled all over!

Anou is a wonderful host! We had a very pleasant stay at her place. The room was clean and very comfortable, the breakfasts she prepared are healthy and copious. She is a very kind person and helped us a lot to plan anything we wanted to do in Siem Reap and its surroundings.

I really liked this place because of its authenticity (house instead of hotel, meals at one table with a big family, etc.), that is, I did not feel like a simple tourist because I was always next to a local resident, ready to help me with the choice of special activities. After I finished the standard set of activities for tourists, I discovered many places that tourists do not even suspect, unless of course they thoroughly explore the topic. As a result, in a few days we drove more than a thousand kilometers and got into an unimaginable wilderness, which I was completely delighted with. I recommend this place to anyone looking for non-standard adventures.
