We begonnen met een lunch, die direct georganiseerd werd, voortreffelijk. De locatie is prachtig. Boven zaten we met onze zoon samen op het balkon dat als een veranda om het huis loopt. Eekhoorns, apen, vogels, kokosnoten. Idyllisch. De gastheer is zeer hulpvaardig en discreet, laat je ook met rust. We hebben uitstekend geslapen. Op verzoek bracht de gastheer ons naar de plaatselijke katholieke kerk, via het meer met een mooie zonsondergang.

Sanka is an excellent host, very friendly and helpful! And his wife is a great cook! Lovely breakfasts and dinners. The cabin is marvelously located overlooking the lake and the terrace is an absolute highlight, so nice to hang out. The cabin itself is small and basic, but with everything you need! Even coffee and tea facilities :-) We had a great time and enjoyed every minute.

I truly enjoyed my freedom here, and this stay has become one of the most unforgettable journeys I've had. If you're looking for a budget-friendly place that is clean, calm, and comfortable, there's simply no better choice than this!

First of all, I'd really like to thank the host for his welcome and kindness! The guesthouse is located in a really calm area which is surrounded by nature and wildlife. The room was very spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. I was able to eat there in the evening and the meals were varied and excellent! I also enjoyed the breakfast! The host is always here when needed and takes great care of his guests. He offered night walks to see the wild animals in the area. We were also treated to a tour of the rice fields and a tasting of a fresh coconut harvested in front of us! He takes the time to chat with the guests, which is really nice! I learned a lot thanks to him :) I can't recommend staying at Ruins Villa enough!

We had an incredible one night stay at Green Garden Homestay. Nillu (the guest) was super friendly, cooked delicious food for dinner and breakfast and we had a great conversation with her and her son. She also helped us arrange the safari to Huluro Eco Park, where we could see lots of wild elephants. We fell in love with her dog Elly, she was so cute and barked at the monkeys that tried to get close to the house! We would repeat for sure and recommend to our friends visiting Sri Lanka

Sunset Tourist Home in Polonnaruwa biedt accommodatie met uitzicht op de tuin, gratis fietsen, een tuin, een gedeelde lounge, een terras en een restaurant. De gastheer Amal is een fantastische kerel. Hij is erg oprecht en doet er alles aan om je te helpen. Zo is hij ons komen ophalen aan de bushalte en mochten we gratis fietsen lenen. Ook de catamaran toer die hij aanraadt is echt de moeite en niet toeristisch/commercieel zoals bij andere hotels. Hij stuurt je naar een lokale visser die hij goed kent en die neemt je mee op zijn boot. De grote luxe moet je hier niet verwachten maar voor deze prijs zaten de voorzieningen en de hygiëne zeker OK.
