We booked a 3 room lodge which offered 2 bathrooms (1 with shower, and another for invalids), 3 bedrooms and an enormous living room with fireplace + kitchen and a large terrace. Kitchen was best in class, equipped with all stuff needed, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine. Books, board game, TV, comfortable furniture etc. Heating system was great as well. The surroundings are all green, daily maintained. There are plenty of rabbits around, so if you look out the window (switch on the Rabbit TV as my kids referred to that) you can always see some of them around. The lodge was 1 minute walk from the John O'Groats port / seaside and all attractions (distillery, brewery, various kind of gift shops, restaurants etc), and the starting poing of the seaside walkway towards Duncansby Head. Near by attractions we have discovered are: Duncansby Head Lighhouse and Stacks, Dunnet Head (the Northernmost part of the mainland Britain), Castle of Mey, Thurso. The lodge was the base of the best holiday I have ever had. We need to return for sure!

The fact the pods were out of town was an attractive point for me, and I felt very peaceful and relaxed in the countryside. Loved the airfryer and the little pod had everything I needed for a good stay.

cosy room with plenty space to put your stuff. Jeanie was fantastic, very helpful and pleasant. She has an Aurora alert on her phone, and if you want will wake you up to see Aurora if it is out. We were so lucky to see it! you can walk right up to the sea and it a good place to explore the north of Scotland from.

The house was spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean and the facilities were clean and in good working order. The location was fabulous, 20 minutes' walk from John O'Groats, and 10 minutes from the seashore, a beautiful rocky beach. The landlady was lovely and kind, very responsive. The field just outside had a rare breed herd of sheep with the cutest lambs we were allowed to help bottle feed and pet (field rented by another farmer, also lovely).

The location was ideal to be able to explore the area. The views from my room were great. Gordon is a perfect host and gave me ideas for places to visit during my stay. The little dog Ellie is adorable.

An absolutely beautiful location. A charming cottage very close to the seaside - peace and quiet, stunning views and the center of the village within a walking distance in one package deal. Old building but with necessary amenities. The place can easily host up to six people. The beds were comfortable. I especially liked the kitchen/living room area on the first floor. We took a trip to the Orkneys which was a unique experience and the harbor is not far from the cottage. I can only recommend the place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
