This is a place I will remember for the rest of my life. I came back home and cannot stop thinking about it. I’ve already recommended it to many of my friends and am honestly dreaming of going there again for a longer stay. The place is truly special — the location, the proximity to nature, the respect and care for the environment, and the memorial and history of the owners and the site. The hospitality and communication were wonderful; I felt truly welcomed and cared for. If you want to experience the REAL Iceland and spend time far away from crowded tourist spots, in a peaceful and unique house from the 1930s, surrounded by animals and mesmerizing landscapes, this is the place for you. You should keep in mind that there is a gravel road in good condition leading to the location, 20 km long, and you’ll be greeted by horses and even a reindeer! You’ll need to bring everything you need with you, as there are no shops nearby. But this is exactly what makes the place so spectacular. All this information is clearly stated when you read about the place, so there were no surprises for us. I truly hope to visit again someday.

For us it was an emergency stay due to road closures, but the host was extremely hospitable and friendly. It was not planned stay and our stay was just for waiting a better weather, however it was very convenient and nice place to stay. Facilities are excellent and everything was exceptional. the hostel has a pleasant atmosphere, interesting history, uniques design, we've met one staff member and he was super friendly and helpful in every way. I would definitely recommend it for other travellers. ahh and I loved that guests were given freedom to use the sauna anytime.

Cottage in the middle of nowhere, nice connection to nature all around, peace and quiet (apart from the elements, mainly wind). Extremely good views and good chances to see the northern lights when the sky is clear! Well equipped, quite clean but a bit older in terms of furniture. Very nicely decorated though, cozy and very warm inside. Hot tubs are the icing on the cake! Perfect getaway from touristy locations on iceland.
