As a contributor to National Geographic CS and VOGUE Travel, I have travelled the world extensively, but nowhere have I encountered such hospitality and travel comfort as in this authentic home stay lounge. Excellent facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Well located, close to the main street of Ambalangoda. Delicious breakfast too. Our children loved playing in the pool, and we all felt very welcomed. Excellent value - highly recommended! :-)

Our stay at Blue Maalu Resort and was an exceptional experience. The property is incredibly clean and modern, with all new furniture since it was built in July 2024. Its prime location right next to the seaside promenade offers stunning beach views, allowing you to see and hear the waves all night long, which is truly relaxing. The host, Waranga, was always available to help and went above and beyond to fulfill all our wishes. He even provided us with everything we needed to enjoy the fruits we bought on the road.

The room was large and modern. The pool area was very relaxing and has a gate straight out to the beach!! Our room faced the ocean and it was the most beautiful view. The manager looked after us very well. The breakfast was delicious.

    I stayed four nights in early July. I could enjoy the beautiful ocean view from my room every day. All the staff are very nice and helpful. Location wise, it is a little off from populated area but not too far away. Bus lines are available to cities along the coast. And, this is the great point, which made me enjoy the ocean view exclusively.

    We stayed in a rooftop room with a sea view, and it was wonderful. The room was very clean, and the host was amazing. The hotel is conveniently close to the city, nice restaurants, and the beach. We especially enjoyed spending time on the rooftop terrace.
