Cheap hotels in Balangoda

It was truly an oasis in the forest. Surrounded by tea estates, mountains, and verdure the views were incomparable. It was lovely to have my own cabin. Right out is a balcony built into the hills offering a splendid view, sunsets and sunrises. In March at night it was cool and pleasant and during the day the cabin was a little too hot, but just step outside the balcony and the cool breezes were excellent. The service was outstanding, the owner is one-of-a-kind and an amazing person. He was always there to help you with luggage, cooking customized dishes to meet my needs and always catering to things I needed while there. They are able to arrange tours or tuk tuks for all my needs. The food was wonderful, great breakfast and lovely lunches and dinners. All just so tasty and made just for you. It couldn't get better. The room had a hot pot, an electric outlet, so it is good to bring extensions and electrical plugs for sure. The shower has hot water, but has to be adjusted just right, they can instruct you on how to do it. They offer big jars of shampoo, body wash, and hand wash with luxurious bath towels and a hand towel. There is also toilet paper and a handheld bidet spray. The main bedroom has two tables that cannot hold too much. You would have to keep most things in the suitcase and you can sit comfortably on lovely large bean bags. The bedroom also has 2 chairs. On the balcony is another large table. The bedroom is A-framed and is decorated becomingly. I really loved this place and wish to go back again soon.

Ultra-modern and the best value place in my Sri Lankan experience over several years. My host was gracious and helpful. A quiet location although off the tourist trail but perfect for an overnight cyclist like myself,

Our stay at Terrace Cinnamon View was incredible! The view from our room and the entire hotel was absolutely breathtaking—one of the best we’ve ever seen. The infinity pool made it even better, with stunning scenery all around as you swim or relax. The food was fantastic! We had both breakfast and dinner there, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and so well-prepared. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making sure we felt right at home and had everything we needed. Only 2 km from the hotel is a beautiful waterfall that we highly recommend visiting—it’s a short trip and absolutely worth it. We really wished we could have stayed longer, but unfortunately, the hotel was fully booked. We’ll definitely be back—it’s a place we’ll always remember!

In the middle of mountains and rice paddies. Amazing 360 degrees views. Beautifuly maintained grounds with little string, our kids loved to explore every corner of the place. Nice refreshing pool, badminton playground. Personnel realy goes the extra mile and the service during mealtime was top notch. Room was large, comfy, nicely furnished with beautiful views. We realy loved just to chill out there. There is a waterfall 20min walk from there.

The staff were nice and they were really reactive whenever we needed something. Perfect stay ! I recommend without any hesitation :) Thank you for the warm welcome

A truely unforgettable experience with Dulara and the team at Ahaspokuna. It’s difficult to pinpoint one thing that stood out as everything was exceptional. The food, the hospitality, the room, the environment, you will not regret staying here! Hope to be back one day. If you’ve read about the leaches, don’t bother worrying, they’re tiny and a non-event.

I had such a lovely stay at Landa Holiday House! The rooms are very nice and comfortable and the garden is exquisite! The host speak very well english and the food is also good. I can recommend to stay here for multiple nights.

We were looked after so well! Great value for money, fab food. Such friendly, welcoming people. Even fed the dog we had picked up along the way!

The recently opened Senaya Homestay was a pure blessing on this trip. Located in a beautiful and quiet region, it's a short ride to many great natural sites. Sumit and his family are all so kind, generous and welcoming. The food prepared by his wife, with the talented support of their older daughter, offers a tasty overview of Srilankan home cooking, always packed with delicious flavours. They also have delightful single origin local tea. I really feel like this perfect stay at Senaya and the always interesting conversations with Sumit gave me a true access to the country's culture, cuisine, nature, history, geography and so much more. Could not be more grateful. Thanks for everything you are sharing so genuinely and I really hope to come back again one day.

I recently had the most unforgettable experience at Belihuloya Adventure Camp! Tucked away in the lush highlands of Sri Lanka, this camp is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. Activity expert Hemantha is highly experienced and ensured safety at every turn, which made the adventure all the more enjoyable. Accommodation at the campsite was comfortable, offering a true "back-to-nature" experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Their passion for the outdoors and commitment to providing a memorable experience really stood out. The food was another highlight – delicious and hearty, perfect after a long day of activities. We were treated to local cuisine with fresh ingredients that really hit the spot. Whether you're looking for an action-packed adventure or a peaceful retreat in nature, Belihuloya Adventure Camp has it all. I recommend this place for any nature lover! I'll definitely be back for more adventures soon.
