Everything was excellent from the friendly welcome to the superb breakfast every moning. Great location for visiting Monsaraz and Alqueva river beaches. The house itself is very interesting , loved the rustic style decor too. Would definitely stay here again.

We have just had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday at Hotel Horta da Moura. The hotel is lovely and welcoming, set in acres of ancient olive and citrus trees within a beautiful landscape. Flavia and all the staff were so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday special. Our room was extremely spacious, clean and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent, I was especially grateful for having a gluten-free treat presented every morning! Swimming in the infinity pool bathed in the scents of citrus and cyprus will sustain me through the winter! There is much to see and do, with plenty of good restaurants a short drive away. We fell in love with the region of Alentejo and I am sure we will return soon to Horta da Moura. Thank you!

We enjoyed the beautiful view of Monsaraz and having the amazing surprise at 7am of the air balloons in flight. The house was immaculate and we had the place all for ourselves. Having access to the courtyard with a seating area and a hose was fabulous in the evening heat. (We had a hose bath👌🏼)

The location is amazing. The light that the window doors provided was amazing. The amenities are great! It has everything you need for a couple of restful days. Everything was spotless (we couldn't even understand that was glass in the windows - they were THAT clean!). AC was strong which helped a lot seeing that it was nearing the 40°C. João was super helpful throughout the visit. Will definitely be back with my family and friends!

Fantastic staff from check-in throughout our stay - cheerful, helpful, attentive really first class. The setting itself close to Monsaraz but with pleasant open grounds and a huge pool , one of two so an ideal retreat after a day's tourism. Comfortable , very clean room pleasantly cool in spite of July temperature no need for air-con. Breakfast good with pleasant service.

Location was spot on. Really friendly staff who spoke limited English but we managed just fine. Very clean room & lovely quirky bathroom with a tiny porthole window. Delicious fresh well catered for breakfast.

An authentic Portuguese experience in an absolutely stunning location. The little casa was decorated in Alentejo style - we loved the private garden to sit outside to eat and read. The sunset views were amazing!! The casa had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable.

Everything! The location in the old town is perfect with breathtaking views from our room and the roof terrace. We were given a warm welcome by the charming host who was very helpful . I have coeliac disease and felt well looked after with gluten free bread provided for a delicious breakfast with wonderful home made preserves. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower really good . Everything was spotlessly clean . We will definitely return.

The rooms were lovely and tastefully decorated, very clean and modern but with a lot of character to keep the overall ambiance. Great shower and bathroom. Amaaaaaaaazing breakfast! Can’t praise it enough. Super friendly staff too, everyone was so nice and welcoming. There is no bad word we could say about our stay. We loved the location too - very close to Monsaraz castle and a great restaurant next door. Would definitely recommend this place!

Great location. Interesting, quirky property. Roof terrace would be lovely at a warmer time of year. Breakfast including fresh fruit was really good value considering it was just a €2.50 add on. Friendly owner. We stayed in an economy room which just has a skylight window but we knew that in advance. Would like to have had a look a look at the other rooms all representing ex Portuguese colonies.
