Perfect, charming old small hotel perched at the top of this UNESCO walled hilltop village next to the castle. Our room: superior with terrace was simple but stylish with a 4 poster bed, lards tv, fabulous views from the windows and terrace, attractive bathroom with a large stand alone comfortable bath. Very effective heating too! Very welcome as it was rather rainy and cold for the first couple of days. The service from all the women staff was friendly and helpful, towards our dog and advising us on restaurants, and just greeting us as we came and went. As it’s Christmas the whole hotel was decorated attractively making the whole ambience very cosy. The breakfast was good, and tasty and again with helpful staff. It really was the perfect stay. There’s good free public parking right next to the hotel too.

Cozy, comfortable and refined apartment (once a stable transformed with design style). Breakfast top, all home-cooked by Soledad and her husband Antonio. Very nice and clever persons. The Quintinha is 20 minutes walking from the Castle, on top of the hill. Place high recommended.

A beautiful little cottage tucked away in the medieval village of Marvao. There's a castle right next door and the village itself is fun to wander around in. The owner of the hotel was friendly and gracious, and the room was perfect. It felt like I was staying in a distant relative's home and not a hotel. Also, the breakfast was incredible. Definitely sign up for breakfast.

A divine hotel in the middle of the old town full of history. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a style that suits its old world charm. We enjoyed delicious meals in there dining room and the friendly attention from staff. The lovely couple who run the hotel went out of there way to help me when I became unwell and needed medical attention. Highly recommend.
