Super spacious room, bed and bathroom, all with amazing views.

Despite this experience may be out of your comfort zone and the village may be noisy at night or a little dirty with plastic, we really recommend it because we experienced one of the most beautiful moments of our trip to Indonesia that we will always carry in our hearts! The homestay is located in a small village in komodo island. We stay in a building at the second floor and we share the apartment with a local family that cooked good food for us. The rooms were simple but confortable with fan. The bathroom has a proper toilette and a shower. Jhojo paid a lot of attention to all our needs and he was very kind, friendly and speaks a very good english. He brought us to the best spots in Komodo National Park at the best time to avoid the crowd of tourists. Moreover he taught us how to live side by side with komodo Dragons, which live on the island! For the trip during the day we used a local boat, contributing to all the village economy, and we very appreciate this. We had an amazing time together and hope to come back one day!

We enjoyed spending time with jecky’s family, eating delicious home cooked meals, seeing Komodos (of which there are many behind the village), trekking in the national park, swimming with mantas, hiking Padar…the list goes on! Even just sitting on the balcony and watching the fishing boats or the resident dugong play with a sea turtle is a great way to pass the time. Jecky is a great host and has great English. You can arrange/discuss all your travels and activities with him via WhatsApp prior. And his wife is a great cook! This is a unique opportunity you will be lucky to have. It’s a homestay (not some bland hotel experience) so come ready for adventure.

Jhuna Komodo Homestay ligt in Komodo, op 1,8 km van Pink Beach, en biedt gratis WiFi, gratis privéparkeren en uitzicht op de zee. Iedere unit heeft een zitgedeelte en een eetgedeelte. Wat een bijzondere plek om te verblijven, midden tussen de locals. Jhuna heeft ons met zijn boot opgehaald uit Lubuan Bajo. Het is een nette boot met genoeg ruimte voor 4 personen. Zijn homestay is netjes, maar basic, maar dat is volgens verwachting. Het eten is echt heerlijk! Als je een rondje door het dorp loopt wordt je vriendelijk gegroet door de mensen en de kinderen zijn helemaal enthousiast. De geiten en kippen kom je overal tegen in het dorp. Jhuna heeft ons de eerste avond meegenomen maar de komodo varanen, we hebben er 3 gezien, dat was super gaaf! We hebben een dagtrip maar Padar Island en Pink beach gemaakt en als afsluiter naar Komodo national park, waar we met een ranger op pad zijn gegaan en wederom 3 komodo varanen gezien. De bedden in de homestay zijn prima en Jhuna is een vriendelijke gastheer. Kortom wij hebben genoten van 2 nachten op Komodo en genoten van de prachtige omgeving.

Ama Wela Living Labuan Bajo bevindt zich op 2,1 km van Bajo Komodo Eco Lodge Beach, en biedt een 4-sterrenaccommodatie in Mbura en biedt een buitenzwembad. Staff was super friendly. Restaurant was top level, get the apple crumble!!! For us backpackers this was our expensive luxury stay, and it was worth every penny.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay. The family who hosted us was very kind and helped arrange a local boat to take us to different beaches and snorkeling spots that were absolutely gorgeous (like manta point and pink beach). The host is a ranger at Komodo National Park and gave us a wonderful tour. It was very special to stay in the Muslim village on the sea and have a glimpse of life there. Everyone was very friendly and warm.

Dua Putri Komodo Homestay bevindt zich in Komodo, in de buurt van Pink Beach. De accommodatie biedt gratis WiFi, een gedeelde lounge en een terras. Iedere unit heeft een zitgedeelte en een... Bahari (our amazing tour guide and camera man), Sargen (our brilliant captain) and Jahiding and wife (host and first class cook) made this an unbelievable experience ! Be aware that the accommodation is very basic and I recommend taking earplugs (also for the boat), but once you settle down and get absorbed into the village life, the adventure begins and a different world opens. The wifi is almost nonexistent but after a while you can accept it as it is and relax. FB and instagram will wait for you … Our trip started at the harbor when we were warmly greeted by the ever smiling Bahari. After a 1,5 hour trip we arrived at our first snorkeling point and in the course of getting to the homestay, we visited 3 absolutely amazing snorkeling places where we saw at least 20+ beautiful turtles and such an abundance of other fish and corals. This continued the next two days and highlight were seeing so many Komodo dragons, being surrounded by hundreds of dolphins and of course the people we met on the tours. The whole trip may be expensive, but work out what 3 meals a day, a private guide and a private boat, entrance to the park etc etc … will cost, then the amount you pay is worth it, trust me. Would I do it again…damn right I would.
