The host is a very kind and nice person. He offered to pick up my luggage from the station and even took me to the only open store at the time to buy some groceries for dinner. The kayak experience was incredible I fully recommend it — he is a great coach! I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity. The house is not far from the station, and you can easily walk there if your luggage isn’t too big. The view from the house is amazing and very relaxing. It’s a comfortable, calm, and peaceful place.

Iya Kankou Ryokan bevindt zich in Miyoshi, op 37 km van Tsurugi-san Chairlift, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren en een gedeelde lounge. I stayed at the Ryokan which run by amazingly heartwarming family for 3 nights! It was soooooo memorable! The great Grandma, Deguchi san, such a cute and kind person and she takes care about everything including my plan at The Valley! She and her son (Kazuya san, he used to be a chef manager.) cook so delicious meals every single day with a different menu for dinner, it was sooooo delicious!! I really enjoyed chatting with other guests from over the world and it was very fun! My room and entire the accommodation was super clean! The location is perfect for looking around the vine bridge, there are several public bus services which run every 1 hour between Oboke station and the Kazurabashi. They offered a special discount for the nearest Onsen, called Hotel Kazurabashi Onsen which was so nice and plus point! (15 mins walks from the Ryokan.) There are only 5 rooms at the accommodation so book well beforehand to have such nice experience from the locals!! I really highly recommend here if visiting the Iya valley and will definitely come back to see the lovely family again in the near future for sure! Thank you very very much for the great experience and nice stay!! Everything, meals, atmosphere and staff are over 10 points, 100 of 10!!!

The hostel Alrik is very kind and has good tips for local activities. Besides, he made designed the place with style and keeps it clean. Even the beds were comfortable, whicht is quite rare for a Japanese style room. The neighbourhood offers some of the best mountain and Gorge views of the island. You can cook at the guesthouse or head out for diner at the local restaurants next to the guesthouse. Highly recommend to stay here.

De locaties was fantastisch, ook zeer geschikt om te kamperen. Het stel wat de guesthouse runt, zijn zeer behulpzaam en hele fijne, lieve mensen. Een super plek om even tot rust te komen en de mooie kust van Shikoku te ontdekken. Ook de gezamenlijke ruimte zijn schoon, gezellig en goed ingericht.

This is a lovely spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and even a deep hot tub to soak after a long day. The apartment was extremely clean. And the owner is very helpful and easy to contact. While I don't expect people in another country to speak my language, we were very happy that the owner spoke excellent English. We liked it so much we are coming back again after our pilgrimage around Shikoku.

Kazuraya ligt in Miyoshi, op 38 km van Tsurugi-san Chairlift, en biedt accommodatie met een spa- en wellnesscentrum en gratis privéparkeren. The dinner is spectacular, and they are well known for their Iya Soba (Sobakiri) that is pretty different from normal soba as it is thicker, shorter, and uses more soba flour. The shioyaki/salt grilled fish was delicious, and the yuzu sorbet they served after were great highlights in this kaiseki meal full of seasonal vegetables and ingredients. The rooms seem pretty newly renovated, and everything is clean and modern while still maintaining an older Japanese ryokan touch. Not sure if all rooms were like this, but we were given a large tatami room with a separate smaller living area and there were also 2 sinks. Perfect for a group of four to stay very comfortably while organizing luggage and packing without stress or having to climb over others to get ready. The staff were all incredibly kind and happy to see us, giving thorough explanations to meals and helping with luggage and even offering to take pictures of us in the snow. The property is also within walking distance to the vine bridge, which is where we went in the morning after check-out.

Very clean and well equipped with various amenities. The owner, Chika has amazing taste and you can see this in every aspect in the home. Everything was very well laid out and the furniture layouts made the stay very comfortable. My wife and kids loved Chika’s tea cup and tea collection. She has a booklet for people who stayed to write in so be sure to work on that.
