It’s really value for money - especially for the family who runs it. Shanta and his wife did their best to make me feel welcome and taken care of - they are so kind and friendly. I also had dinner here and it was homemade and delicious. The room is simple but you have the basic conditions you need. The location is also good - even though it’s a bit far from the ruins, the way to it is by the lake, which makes up for it! Thank you very much!

Great accomodation with very pleasant atmosphere! The room was clean and comfortable, with a cozy terrace overlooking the green rice fields. The host was really nice and friendly, and we had a delicious dinner. The location is perfect, walking distance from the ancient city and the bus stop. I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone!

The house was spacious and set in a beautiful garden not far from the lake and within easy cycling distance of the museum and old town. The room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. The breakfasts are evening meals were generous and delicious. Binara and his family were friendly and welcoming . He speaks very good English and communicated clearly and promptly throughout. He went out of his way to ensure that I got the most out of my stay and was so kind and helpful in helping me with travel arrangements. He recommended a wonderful elephant safari with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide which I really enjoyed. This was a great base for exploring Polonaruwa and I would highly recommend Binara Homestay.

I really like that Ruins Villa was away from the city itself and along a very quiet track not far from the ruins. It was such a peaceful location with lots of lush plants around. I was surprised by the canal and how beautiful it is and enjoyed seeing it while in the way to the villa. Upali is an exceptional host and I really enjoyed getting to know home and more about his place. He was so helpful and kind…I rented a bike from him to explore the ruins nearby; he took me and the bike in his run rule so I could start at the entrance and finish at the end gate which was near his place. I ate breakfast and dinner there also - delicious and healthy!

El Tishan Holiday Resort se encuentra en Bendiwewa, en la región de Polonnaruwa. La zona arqueológica está a 3,5 km del Tishan Hotel. We just spent one night, but agreed we could have stayed longer. The hotel was very calm and had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Everything was very clean and neat. The room we had next to the pool was very nice, and offered a nice little terace to relax on. We did not get a chance to jump in the pool, but it looked very good and the area arround it cozy with sunbeds and hammocks. The best about the place was definately the staff. Amazing service level and just so very, very nice people. If we are ever around in Polonnaruwa, we are returning here.
