So incredible to leave by camel from the hotel into the desert. A car (we had two wheel drive no problem to get here) is probably essential since town is 12-15 minutes driving. The sunset from the upper patio is beautiful over the date palms. Stay here.

This place is a hidden gem! The hosts were amazing. We were made to feel welcome from the minute we stepped onto the property. The hosts speak a number of languages and were a great source of knowledge and information. They were the friendliest hosts we had for our entire trip. We felt at home here straight away. Our room was simple but very spacious, clean and comfortable. There was a full-sized fridge plus enough pots and cutlery. There was a bedroom, an ensuite and a separate living area with the kitchen in it. The large pool was a huge bonus when it was so hot. All up it was great value. Thank you!

It was truly wonderful. Right in the middle of the desert, exactly as shown in the photos. Since we arrived late, we missed part of the activities, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. On the way, our car got stuck in the sand, and within just two minutes they sent a vehicle from the camp to assist us, which was incredibly kind. The camp’s location is really unique. Waking up early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the endless desert is unforgettable. The rooms were comfortable and cozy.

We hadden via booking.com een appartement gehuurd maar er was helemaal geen appartement. We kregen gewoon een kamer met klein badkamertje erin. In de omschrijving stond ook een keuken met koelkast, etc. Maar dat was zeker niet het geval. De omschrijving klopt dus totaal niet met wat we daadwerkelijk kregen. Maar ondanks dat toch een prima verblijf gehad.

Our stay in Douz was one of the best parts of our Sahara Desert road trip. The apartment is in the heart of the town, making it easy to walk anywhere. The location was even better than we hoped. The apartment itself was large, clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and the space felt open and welcoming. The host, Faoizi, was on another level. He was always ready to help and kept in touch with clear communication. One evening, we joined him at his café to watch the World Club Cup semifinal, which made us feel part of the community. The highlight of the stay was the 4x4 sunset jeep tour into the Sahara. It felt real and unique. We enjoyed Berber food cooked in the desert and over a cup of traditional tea while learning about local life. We arrived in Douz as guests but left feeling like friends.
