Het Butiama Marine Camp ligt op een steenworp van het Big Blu Mafia Island Diving Center in Utende en heeft een restaurant en een bar. U kunt hier gratis privéparkeren. It is a beautiful place, a lot of activities - daily excursions (staff even tried to organize it just for us), diving (different reefs), snorkeling, massages, everything. Food is amazing, prices are reasonable. Very peaceful, nice, calm and great send camp. Staff was also amazing, we were three young girls, felt safe and really enjoyed our last days of Tanzania.

Coconut Mafia Island Bungalows bevindt zich op 6,1 km van Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, een terras en een gedeelde keuken. We just finished our 3 day stay in Mafia and at Mafia Island Bungalows : it was a lovely stay, all-round : beautiful space for the house, comfortable terrace, perfect bedroom (Upendo - very nicely decorated with local flair, loved it), great bathroom… everything fine! The place is overall very quiet as it sits a little away from the road at the entrance of the Marine Park. We did not meet the owners, who where on a trip off the island : however, they took the time to check-in with us every single day, and it was much appreciated. We also would like to adress a great shout out to the staff : Hassan was very available, without being « too present » / just the right balance; and there is an amazing Chef on premises: we loved the breakfasts and even more the diners! The homemade bread and Chapatis, the soups, the mains and the deserts… everything was delicious ! Well done, we whole-heartedly recommend staying with you when visiting Mafia and hope to come again one day ☺️

This has to be the best place on Mafia island. Set apart from town, on a bluff with a commanding view of the sea, and the sunset, three very stylish - and huge - rooms, large infinity pool, great food, superb manager in Ali and his excellent assistant Salama. Mafia is great - a paradise Indian Ocean island just open enough to be accessible and for everything to be easy to arrange - but it feels like the big tourist rush is yet to arrive. And Kilekeni, a short hop from town, the airport or the busier east coast, is one of its most serene and supremely relaxing spots.

Butiama Bustani Hotel ligt in Kilindoni met uitzicht op de tuin en heeft een restaurant, een gratis shuttleservice, bar, tuin, buitenzwembad dat het hele jaar door open is en terras. Ze deden alles om het ons naar de zin te maken, echt heel vriendelijk en attent personeel. Het eten was ook altijd heerlijk en ruim voldoende!

Meremeta Lodge ligt in Utende, op minder dan 15 minuten fietsen van Mafia Island Diving. Het biedt gratis fietsen en een tuin. Er is gratis WiFi beschikbaar. Zeer rustig gelegen, zeer ruime kamers met goed sanitair . Vermits we de enige gasten waren gedurende ons verblijf was er bijna iets teveel aandacht van de uitbater voor ons .

Chole Mjini Treehouses Lodge biedt unieke accommodatie in een boomhut op Chole Island in het hart van het Mafia Island Marine Park. De accommodatie heeft een duikcentrum. An amazing little island with outstanding tree house accommodation. Eco tourism at its finest. Plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Perfect for winding down after doing safari. Definitely worth a visit. The owner has done so much to help the locals which was lovely to see.

Maisara Mafia Beach Lodge bevindt zich in Kilindoni, op 7,2 km van Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, en biedt accommodatie met een tuin, gratis privéparkeren, een privéstrand en een terras. We found this lodge online and booked for 9 days. After a fantastic welcome we were offered the traditional bungalow on the beach, but could choose others that were available. The lodge is right on the beach and is a “barefoot” resort, sand right up to your veranda. We wanted to dive with the whale sharks, snorkel and scuba dive and the lodge delivered on all accounts. What really made our stay was the team, including the two Moodys (we called them the moody blues) and the wonderful team from the restaurant and boutique. Massages are also available. They all treated us like family and there was nothing they would not do to make our stay amazing. All our diving and snorkeling trips were organised, and we could add all the costs to our account and pay on departure. The whale sharks were amazing and the island snorkeling and beach BBQ incredible. We also ate on the beach in front of a beach fire. The fishing boats are right in front of you. There are also two resident black cats (Vladimir) who added to our family experience. Hassan, the owner, was very discreet, super friendly and professional leaving his team to happily look after us. Mafia is a small island, very laid back, and these guys do not have mass tourism, they just made our stay amazing. Well done!

Basecamp Mafía Island bevindt zich in Utende, op 7,7 km van Rufiji Mafia Kilwa Marine Reserve, en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, gratis privéparkeren, een tuin en een privéstrand. We hebben genoten van onze tijd hier. Een prachtig verblijf, lief personeel en heerlijk eten!! Vanaf de aankomst wist het personeel onze namen en was alles zeer persoonlijk. Alle vragen die we hadden werden opgelost en het personeel zorgde ervoor dat we een fijne tijd hadden. Er is een prachtig zoutwater zwembad dat perfect past in de omgeving. Ook kan je gezellig zitten in de beachbar en is er elke dag wel iets van entertainment ergens op het resort, als je daar behoefte aan heb.
