Spacious and spotless rooms with comfortable bed equipped with mosquito net, fan, private bathroom with hot shower and outside sitting terrace. The room price of 6$ per night was fair. The lovely couple welcomed us with tea and cake and help with any regards. They have their own Safari Jeeps. We went on a 4h Safari with them for a jeep price of 13000 rupees (fits 6 persons, excluding national park entrance fee) which was well organized. They offer dinner and breakfast on request which we however didn’t take. The place is very peaceful and quiet, about 25min walk to the main road where you can find shops and good local restaurants. Recommend this place for a short stay and Safari.

Jansen’s Bungalow Sinharaja Rainforest Retreat has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Kudawe. Quirky doesn’t even begin to describe this place. A beautiful colonial bungalow, full of bric-à-brac and antiques, done up in Balinese style, at a wonderful secluded location in the middle of the rainforest. Comfortable rooms, a beautiful infinity pool and a lovely restaurant with an excellent chef, and all of this run by Lasith and a bevy of handsome young men. They might look like they were picked at a local modelling agency, but they all do an excellent job catering to your every need. And everything with a smile. 😃 I liked it so much I stayed another day.

We had a lovely stay here and booked a safari with them, which was amazing! The room was nice and cozy, with a really nice bathroom. The family that manages the place is extremely welcoming and friendly, and they cook delicious meals. Highly recommended!

The location is remote feels like living in a forest reserve, so much bird song and local wildlife. Very peaceful. Food was superb. Staff welcomed you will a lovely fruit drink grown in garden. Early breakfast was excellent. The local wild swim pool was dry but there is a small concrete rustic pool at the bungalow excellent for a cooling dip
