This enchanted space is definitely not for everyone and those scared of the occasional frog on the path at night or bugs or geckos in the room should not stay here. We loved the room and especially the stunning infinity pool in the middle of the jungle where we watched monkeys in the trees around us. The partially abandoned and sometimes dilapidated buildings give a unique feeling of King Louis palace coupled with a castaway island and a bit of salsa music thrown in for good measure. The staff were really kind and friendly! We loved it this very special place! Go trekking with a local guide and see the sunrise from Mt Batur. Great views from the room and restaurant!

Our stay at Uma Buug was the highlight of our latest trip to Bali. We loved staying in the traditional,thatch roof hut, surrounded by rice paddies and the beautiful backdrop of Mt Agung. Our lovely host organized an amazing 4 hour hike through the rice paddies, jungle and village, meeting lots of local people on the way. Our hut had beautiful, fresh white sheets and the shared bathroom was modern and beautifully clean. The breakfast prepared for us was lovely and freshly made and we look forward to staying at Uma Buug again.

Love the surrounding nature. We didn’t expect that the accommodation is in the middle of a rice paddy. So, you may walk from parking to the accomodation.

Honestly one of the best places we stayed on our journey. Not only is the stay simply beautiful, Dawa and her family were wonderful hosts! We had many lovely conversations and they made sure we had everything we needed and more, also if you want to do river tubing they have that on offer too. The rooms are beautiful, hearing the river whilst going to sleep was a delight and the pool is with natural spring water which was a delight! Amazing place to stay if you don’t like being in the tourist spots, about a 20mins scooter ride through lovely scenery to ubud which we loved. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to the area :)

The Batan Nyuh Retreat is a wonderfully located glamping, in the middle of the rice fields. The place is simply stunning, so beautiful, peaceful and truly authentic! We are delighted with our stay. The facility was recently opened and everything smells fresh. It is an ideal place to enjoy beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The view is amazing. There is also a restaurant on site that serves delicious food. The staff and manager are very friendly people you can count on for help. We regretted that we only found such an amazing place at the end of our stay in Bali.

Best views we have had in Asia. Fantastic place if you want to go camping but don’t have any of the gear! This was the comfiest mattress and duvet we have had during our whole trip! The staff here are so helpful. They kindly lit our fire for us in the evening, cooked dinner, made coffee and beautiful breakfast overlooking the most stunning views of Mt Batur. Toilets were impeccably clean - so much cleaner than some indoor places we have stayed! Lovely warm shower. Highly recommend as a break from hostels and hotels - absolutely great experience!
