The park is stunning, with a lovely little playground at the water's edge. Despite some traffic noise from the nearby main road, the park setting feels close to nature - lots of birdsong abounds! The lodge is spacious, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There isn't much in the way of shops and cafés in the immediate surroundings, but Vathorst train station with direct trains to various towns and cities is just a short walk away.

Amazing location in the Kaapse Bossen, right in the forest with lots of walking routes. We came by public transport and there is a bus stop 5 mins walk from the holiday park entrance. The park was really nice and quiet for us where you hardly heard anyone and all you could hear was the various bird species living around the chalet. De Vink is incredibly well designed, showed lots of innovative use of the limited space you get in a cabin without it feeling small. It felt very homely and also has a ton of natural light which was lovely. The kitchen was well equipped with a great range of pans and utensils to cook with. The aircon in the bedroom was very welcome in this warm period, it works so well you only need to use it for 15 minutes before bed anyway as it really does its job! It was also great to have the washing machine and dryer in the shed with washing liquids provided, so we could do a mid-week wash without bringing our own supplies. The wine and chocolate left at the cabin were a really nice gesture as well.

The chalet is a beautiful property and having direct access to enter the lake from chalet is a wonderful feature, along with the ample outdoor space to sit back, enjoy the view and relax. Ricardo was very pleasant and reliable to communicate with. We did not need a car and found it easy to get to using Amersfoort Vathorst station which has great connections to many other places we visited. Also a great area to cycle around.
