The moment we entered we knew we would never want to leave. In the middle of the jungle, surrounded by monkeys and a few steps away from the beach, a beautiful big cabin with everything we needed. Carlos the manager was great and even called us when a sloth came near the reception, the beach was fantastic, many restaurants nearby. It was a dream.

Our host, he was great and friendly and showed us around the garden and helped us spot a couple snakes, sloth and other creatures. The garden was stunning. He also cooked us up a yummy breakfast. For me the area was great with a car, it's an hour walk from the town along the beach. A bit out the way without a car.

We travlelled for our anniversary trip, part of the trip we started at this resort and it blew our mind. The Long Dream House was spectacular and staffs were very nice. Masai and Oner was always in our reach with any help. The whole resort was very nicely decorated and what amazed us most is the use of resources. The walk from our Long Dream House was not 8 minutes what they told me, it was over 20 minutes, but honestly they made the whole 20 minutes walk so enjoyable with fantastic decoration. Reusung toys for kids was a great option. And the most of all we went there from NYC, living in a real forest was like a life time experience. Highly recommend!

Playa Negra Guesthouse is located in Cahuita, right in front of the beach. All units feature a seating area. Some units have a terrace and/or balcony with pool or garden views. Fantastic place with a beautiful garden, plenty of wildlife! The hosts are super welcoming, taking their time to show you around and help spot the animals (sloths, toucans, lizards etc). The pool is also very nice as well as the beach just across the street - it has shade, more sloths and feels safe for kids. We would have happily spent more time there!

Situated 5 km awayfrom Cahuita in the Limon Region and 18 km from Puerto Viejo, Passion Fruit Lodge boasts an outdoor pool and views of the tropical garden. Cocles is 20 km from the property. Beautiful garden and amazing pool, very nice and large cabana with kitchen and aircon. We love this place.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and tropical garden, La Rana De Cahuita is set 5 km away from the centre of Cahuita. Puerto Viejo is 18 km from the property. The place is a hidden gem. Nestled in the middle of the rain forest amongst lush gardens and local fauna. The songs of the birds were incredible and you could hear the houler monkeys every morning. We hope to come back soon.

The lodge was so beautiful - the indoor outdoor living, the care taken to the garden, the space in general. Away from the chaos of puerto viejo but and easy drive into town if needed. Great recommendations from the hosts who were the loveliest couple that provided us with information about the area, fresh fruit, and a sense of immediate comfort. Waking up and seeing animals everyday was an added bonus!
