Other reviews justly praise this property for its luxurious size, well-stocked kitchen, reliable wifi, and comfortable living room with plenty of couch space for a family to relax. Desmond and Marjorie reply promptly to messages and are easy to work with. Also know that the location is ideal for tourists with a rental car who want to visit castles: it is nearly equidistant between Raglan Castle, Monmouth Castle, and Chepstow Castle (as well as Tintern Abbey and its access to the Offa's Dyke hiking trail). Tangentially, the main street of Monmouth is worth visiting for restaurants, buying hiking poles if needed, etc. Don't think that staying at this location means you must do grocery shopping in Chepstow. We've included a photo of our teenage boys sitting on Devil's Pulpit, waiting for their slower parents to complete that portion of the hike.

It is an amazing place to stay. The lodge is beautiful and cosy, the hot tub is even better. Prior to arriving, we got sent a welcome booklet which was such a lovely touch. When we arrived the hosts were lovely and very informative. We had such a lovely time. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants some time to escape the hustle and bustle of the real world.
