Great hosts, great location, comfortable hut.

Close to terminal with a very convenient 24h shuttle service. For an overnight stay prior to an early flight it was perfect. Friendly staff.

The hostel is located perfectly, (and also is a repurposed jail? which is cool), it was quick and easy for me to see the main streets downtown and also to catch a bus to the beach and the shuttle to the airport stop was only a 6 min walk away. The kitchen/dining area was great for working during the day, the rooms were very comfortable and secure, and the bathrooms were cleaned very consistently. Free luggage storage was also greatly appreciated! If I ever come back to Edinburgh, I will surely rebook with CoDE.

Excellent location in the heart of Edinburgh with gorgeous views over the castle and Princes St. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Windows have wooden shutters so you can close at night to block light and noise. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and to the Royal Mile with Edinburgh Castle at one end and The Palace at the other end.

Great history and very cosy. Lots of original quirks and features including working wooden shutters in the bedroom. Not your typical box like room. Full of character

Large lounge, big windows, ground floor, wooden and tile flooring, sofa was comfortable, wooden shutters, portable oil radiators (it snowed and the temperature fell to -2C during our stay), price. Keybox easy to retrieve keys from.
