Set in Cherrapunji in the Meghalaya region, Living Roots Lodge offers accommodation with free private parking. The lodge is in a quiet, green valley, about 15 kms from Cherrapunji town. Though the room was small, it was comfortable, clean and had all the amenities. Mr, Ban, the owner, went out of his way to ensure that we had a pleasant stay. He also took us around for sightseeing. And we came to know a lot about Khasi culture from him as he explained everything in detail. The staff were also very nice and helpful. Dinners were simple Khasi fare, very delicious!

The room was nice and spacious. The bungalow itself is large and feels comfortable with it's wooden interior. It's located slightly on the edge of the city which we enjoyed, since Shillong itself gets quite hectic. Ashang and his staff took great care of us with making breakfast and dinner for us. The food was simple, homely and very nice. We had 4 good nights here. We were also allowed to wash our clothes there. We used the place as a starting point for 2 day trips to the beautiful sights in Meghalaya.

Great view outside. Perfect location. Perched on hill top in middle of Shilllng market. Wonderful reception and car parking service. Superb ambience and environment for a family.
