The patios had plenty benches, tables, chairs, umbrellas and shades that create unique lounges, very Mediterranean style. The setting is amazing, regardless if you’re in the room, patios or by the pool. It feels very private and is perfect to just disconnect and relax. The location is perfect, but would say only accessible by car. The owner was very nice and thoughtful. One of the best houses we’ve stayed. 100% recommend.

CHALÉ ligt in Alijó, op 43 km van Museu do Douro en 30 km van Palácio Mateus, en biedt uitzicht op de stad. Luisa was incredible! We stayed 3 nights here and loved our time. It was relaxing and filled with making us feel at home! She provided us with a fridge full of food upon arrival and a small bottle of her own wine. Each morning she bought us fresh bread, cakes, eggs, juice etc which was such a nice touch! As we were heading out one morning she caught us and showed us the wine being made in the process which was fantastic to see! Always a text or call away and lots of recommendations and even offer to use the pool in her other property. We couldn’t recommend this place more - perfect location for a stay in the Douro Valley!

Some lovely local fruit and vegetables and other food given to us to use. The accommodation and the kitchen have everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. We also tasted local wine produced by the family which is of high quality. The surrounding area is beautiful for nature lovers and Alijo itself is an attractive and charming town. Difficult to fault anything at all. Thank you.

Palheiro Mezio ligt in Mezio, op 20 km van Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, en biedt accommodatie met een buitenzwembad, een tuin, een terras en gratis WiFi. Very quiet place in a little charming village. Beautifully decorated chalet with interesting arquitectural features and a cozy balcony. The pool and the chairs next to it were amazing to cool off and relax in a very warm day. Friendly owners and staff. We had a very pleasant stay!

Casa das Vinhas Velhas by Casa do Poço, een accommodatie met een seizoensgebonden buitenzwembad en een terras, bevindt zich in Peso da Régua, op 12 km van Natur Waterpark, 13 km van Museu do Douro, en... We had difficulty locating the property & eventually called the proprietor. She had a good idea where we were, she said to stay put & was there to meet us in a few min. I don’t think our gps would have found this location, got us close but that’s all. Stairs to climb to the chalet so suggesting you travel light. Learned the closest restaurant is a 20 min drive & since it was already getting dark we were concerned to find the place in the darkness & also do the winding narrow roads we stayed put. Suggest you have something you can prepare but again if you do want to go out, plan for this restaurant cause it is an excellent suggestion as we learned the following am. . This place is called Sao Leonardo, Following AM we drove there hoping to find breakfast but no they have a later opening. BUT….again kindness & the owner put together a delicious sandwich & we sat out on the patio taking in the gorgeous view. Further up the road is the best lookout & you can drive to it (also suggested by women where we stayed.) Miradouro de Sao Leonardo in Galafura, I’m certain this view is what appears in tour guide books, so beautiful, Other suggestions made but we felt we’d seen the best & did not want to do any Port cellar tours.
