We specifically stayed at Cowra to visit the Japanese gardens which were incredible and will certainly be telling others to visit.
Also enjoyed a walk around the beautiful rose garden at the Information centre on the morning we left Cowra stunning.

The Japanese Garden was really good, I wish I had more time...
The Japanese Garden was really good, I wish I had more time there. I was a little disappointed with the POW camp. Could do with a souvenir shop and maybe some replica huts like the one at the information centre. The train restoration facility is well worth a look at also.

Travelled to Cowra for the Sukara cherry festival at the Japanese gardens. Lovely day spent there , lots of activities and food on offer for the Japanese festival. Clean and pretty town with lots to offer but we were on a schedule.

We loved the friendliness of the locals who were very eager to help. We visited the Japanese Gardens which were beautiful and tranquil. Played golf at the Cowra Golf Course which was reasonably priced, visited a number of coffee shops all recommended by the locals and had a meal at The Railway Hotel off their specials night which lucky for us was Thursday $20 steak night. Cowra is worth a visit.

The Japanese garden is beautiful in any season.
The Japanese garden is beautiful in any season. We visited in winter, and I was a bit worried it wouldn't be as nice. However, the garden is planned with seasons in mind, so it is lovely all year round.
The POW camp memorial site is worth a visit to explore and acknowledge Australia's wartime history.
We also drove to Iandra Castle - a 1800s manor house and estate - about 40 min out of Cowra. It has open days on some long weekends, and is worth a visit if you can. It is necessary to have a car to get around, but the area is beautifully rural.

We visited Cowra for the purpose of the Iandra Castle open day. The castle was brilliant and we also visited the Heritage Railway museumas well as Bellevue Hill Reserve and Lookout. We have been to Cowra before so we did not go to the Japanese Gardens. The Cowra Club had a great meal. The motel we stayed in was fantastic Country Gardens Motor Inn. The room was spacious, extremely clean and Mark was a brilliant host.

We had a room issue and Matt (owner) listened, discussed options, and then implemented what we agreed on. He also provided wonderful dinner recommendations in town. Room was a very good size, bed super comfortable, and WiFi was fast and consistent. Hotel is on a main road, but unlike other locations, it is on a flat section and away from traffic lights, so trucks don't need to use their noisy compression brakes.

The Hotel Manager (Jan) was extremely helpful from organising an early check in, to booking taxis for me. And when it looks like there was going to be a delay on the taxi Jan offered to drive me herself. Exceptional service
The motel room was large, very comfy bed and lovely high pressure shower with plenty of hot water. What more could you want.

Very very clean tidy large king size room with king size bathroom big mini fridge
The bed was super comfy we had a great nites sleep no disturbance at all
Nice flat walk into town had the best pub dinner at The Imperial Hotel

The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. The bed and pillows fantastic. It is a short walk to Club Cowra for meals.
