    The friendly helpful country people.

The friendly helpful country people. Katoomba offered a variety of diverse shops which we found entertaining as we had both been to the blue mts before and had chosen Katoomba for a catch up as we hadn’t been together for six years. Vegetarian omelette at the little French cafe along with and excellent coffee featured highly on our priorities. We both agreed Katoomba is a friendly well appointed country town and comfortably accessed by rail. Jacqui larsen

Being an artist and writer-I enjoyed taking pictures to sketch when I get home. I love the old Bookshop / Opp Shop in downtown Katoomba! The library to check a few information for my writing. I stopped at the Cultural Centre to see an exhibition. Took pictures of Street Art! Hopped on the local bus-great service. I told them so. Did a short bush walk as well. Getting too old for the long walks!!!

It’s a beautiful town with lots to do and beautiful scenery surrounding it. We stayed at the Mountain Heritage Hotel which was fantastic, and so beautiful with amazing views. I really enjoyed walking around the Main Street checking out all the cool shops and cafes, visiting Odd mountain was definitely a highlight and so was having pizza for dinner at Rustico. Katoomba Falls was also a beautiful spot that I’ll remember forever. I’d love to visit again

The Blue Mountains visit was INCREDIBLE.

The Blue Mountains visit was INCREDIBLE. The Town itself is somewhat run down so choose your hotel wisely, the Carrington looks to be the best option within the Town. Ideally, a train journey from Sydney (approx 2 hours) would suffice for a full days visit.

Many tourists; not many eateries; parking meters not good; rsl club a hoot but needs more seating; eccentric characters a bonus. A nice walkable cbd. Great train station. Friendly vibe. Mountain magic.

Loved the general Katoomba area, magnificent views of the mountains and so picturesque with a variety of galleries and good quality shopping in surrounding villages. Friendly atmosphere. The Lost Bear Gallery is a must see if you like fine art. Just to see the beautifully renovated building housing the art work is worthwhile. We loved The Katoomba area and will definitely visit again.

Character-filled rambling big guesthouse has a Thai flavour and seems to have been designed with holistic healing in mind, but other than a massage chair in the rooms, I saw little evidence, and the gigantic dining space was empty. I saw few staff in the week I was there and it seemed like just a great budget hotel. Barely heard any noise from other guests and was happy with my very sunny room. A brief walk to Katoomba Street and walkable to/from the station. Would recommend.

The property was amazing, the view was beautiful, the fireplace was so good, kept us warm the entire time! It was very clean. They provided everything you would need in the kitchen, and in the bathroom. The bedrooms were very clean and stocked up with blankets and pillows. We’ve been to many hotels and none have been as clean and comfortable as this. We had the best stay at emerald view. If we go up to Katoomba again, we’ll definitely be staying here.

Loved the whole ambience about the Hotel, of course the best ever view and breakfast was also fabulous. Didnt realise they offered Barista coffee until after but maybe that could be offered too. We all loved the dinner in the Jamison restaurant on Friday night, food was definitely 5 star and also was the service. Also loved the bar area and lounges.

Loved staying at this charming boutique hotel that was perfect for an overnight stay, literally 50 metres from the Katoomba train station. Great staff, communicative. The sheets and oversized pillows were starched-white and ultra fresh and clean, which is always very welcome. Ask for a room with a view.

Old world charm. I love old hotels that tell a story about a glorious and prosperous past. I liked the beds, my husband thought they were a bit hard. Great location, right near the train station, in the main streetof Katoomba.
