FAQs about hotels in Melbourne

Buzzy Jewel of Aussie Rules

A thoroughly liveable city, Melbourne has a buzzy vibe and an Aussie sense of fun. There’s always something going on, and one of its many festivals is Moomba – Australia’s largest free arts festival. Well worth a visit are the National Gallery of Victoria and the Melbourne Aquarium, where you can walk through a clear tunnel as sharks swim over your head.

The city’s most recognizable landmark is Flinders Street Station, whose yellow and green façade matches the color of the historic Melbourne trams that still run around the world’s longest tram network. Keep an eye out for the street art as you travel.

Shopping in Melbourne is fantastic. Queen Victoria Market is the largest open-air market south of the Equator, while the La Trobe Street shopping center has over 300 stores. For food, don’t miss Little Italy - the Carlton area.

South of the Yarra River is St Kilda, home to the best beach and Albert Park, where the F1 Australian Grand Prix is held. However, this isn't the city’s only sports heritage. It’s also the home of Aussie Rules soccer and the MCG, a must-see for cricket fans.

Booking.com has a range of Melbourne accommodations from hotels to hostels and motels, some near Melbourne Airport.

I work and live in Melbourne for decade, now the place look like worst than before and with the COVID many small business disappear. One main advantage of Melbourne was this multi ethnics & multi cultural it seems. it is all gone and cost of living up to the roof. There are still some beautiful garden in Melbourne and I like Victoria. As traveller I will stay 2 days in Melbourne if you have a budget for a rental car I will travel 2 weeks and more in Victoria State easy and convenient with a car to see some beautiful national park and the coast .

Went to Fed Square and Docklands.

Went to Fed Square and Docklands. Had a meal at the Transport bar, Fed Square and Mr MoJo's at the Docklands. Very easy to get around on the city circle freezone trams. Was lovely to walk around town to places we have not walked before. Had a look at Selife Aquarium. Very good for kids. Went to the Casino and left after 10 minutes. Not that interested in queuing for a gambling card to put my $20 in a pokie machine. Lot's of deals for meals at lot's of venues. Eat/Drink/Cheap is a good app for info about where to find the best deals each night.

Great city to enjoy the fun, restaurants, laneways, galleries, beaches and so much more. We thought venues, shows and restaurants were well priced so that everyone could find their comfort level. It is brilliant to travel for free in the CBD.

The hotel was right in the heart of the city or CBD and i could comfortably get access to other tourist attracting facilities such as Melbourne Skydeck or Sealife and Yarra River cruise and many more. The room was very clean, well organised, no foul odours, no noise, well appointed room, easy to check in/check out and last but not least very helpful staff. If I visit Melbourne again I will be back to The Victoria Hotel

From the start you are greeted with friendly receptionist staff who are helpful and polite. The building is well kept and the rooms are spacious. Although the hotel doesn’t do breakfast, the recommended restaurant is second to none. The building is also located in the CBD of Melbourne with lots of public transport available to get around the city.

This is our preferred accommodation in Melbourne CBD. The apartments are a really good size. Much bigger than what you get in a traditional hotel. The location is brilliant. Don’t think we could find anything better.
