The best place to stay in Diest and a fantastic place to stay in Flemish Brabant in general. High standards, from the room to breakfast, and great hospitality by the hosts that make you feel right at home. Rooms: spacious room, very tastefully done with a large, confy bed and confy bedding, very high standard bathroom with a mirror all the way up to the ceiling, air-con, blinds on all windows including the skylight, built-in wardrobe with enough hangers and a (very stylish) separate bathroom. The TV can be moved around in the room freely. Hotel facilities: both rooms are adjacent to a veranda and the garden, both very cozy and inviting. Ideal to work there (solid WiFi and plugs nearby), also due to the adjacent kitchen with free coffee and tea. Every room also comes with a fridge in the kitchen where you can buy drinks for cheap (minibar equivalent). Location: very central in Diest, everything nearby from shopping, supermarket to various parks. Swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts also nearby. Everything is walkable. Multiple good restaurants are also within walking distance. Parking is also not a problem. Breakfast: a very special breakfast made with great attention to detail and served at the table every day. Nothing to be desired, from fresh smoothies and orange juice to good coffee, artisan cheeses, fresh fruits, changing joghurts, a large variety of breads and baked goods. They also served fresh egg dishes/breakfast eggs according to your preference (every day). It doesn't get better than that! The best part: the increadibly hospitable hosts, Annick and Jeroen! Hosts are very welcoming, they made us a fire for the time of our arrival, it was a very warm setting. As soon as we entered the house the lights and ambiance was very cosy, the whole place is well designed and has a particular style we loved. We were all impressed by the high structure and vast spaces, we enjoyed a nice dinner in the kitchen and a board game night in the living area, the couch was very comfortable as well as the beds upstairs. We loved that the house was isolated in the woods and surrounded by trees and protected by a nice cat, we will definitely come back!

Diest is really understated.

Diest is really understated. There are some lovely historic parts of the town to explore, the Grand Place has some very good restaurants and it's surrounded by beautiful countryside. It's a very calm, peaceful place to visit. Our favourite restaurant was Nicky's Catwalk in the Grand Place.

Diest is a charming small town in Belgium that offers everything a family could need. During our 8-day stay, we enjoyed the beautiful old town, filled with cozy cafés, restaurants, and pubs, as well as lovely local stores alongside major brands. The town is surrounded by clean air and lush greenery, making it a refreshing place to relax. Halve Maan Park was a highlight, with its outdoor pool and sand beach, perfect for family fun. The park also offers golf, children’s playgrounds, and free access to most areas, including parking in the nearby forest. One of the most fascinating aspects of Diest is the Beguinage, a UNESCO-protected site dating back to the 13th century. The history of these communities, founded by single women who supported and protected each other, is truly inspiring. Diest's excellent location also makes it a convenient base for exploring other cities, with a train station that connects directly to the heart of Brussels. The people of Diest are incredibly polite, welcoming, and laid-back, which made our experience even more enjoyable.

Hotel is located very well for getting in and out of the city or getting to the train station. Staff were very nice and friendly. The reception is unmanned most of the day so we didint have a massive amount of interaction with them however. We had no iron or kettle in the room but when we asked the staff were happy to get them for us.

I arrived at 10pm - not a problem, the host/receptionist was on hand to give me the key and explain how to operate the front door out-of-hours. The room was clean, quiet, with en-suite shower/toilet and even a fridge. Top marks for value! Plenty of off-street parking, right in front of the hotel.

The hotel's small garden is very peaceful here. We really enjoyed eating there and having breakfast. Bist center is just a 4-minute drive away, a great place.There are nice cafes and restaurants here. Our hotel room was spacious enough and the bed was very comfortable.
