Small picturesque city with a beautiful, clean and green central part. With several museums and a gallery in gorgeously restored houses from the Bulgarian Secession era and the museum staff is quite kind and helpful.
Kamaka - ruin of an old medieval tower offers an amazing view over the Danube river.
There is an annual festival of brass bands from all over the country the last weekend of August.
