Clean attractive facilities. Very nice main lodge building.
Jasper sits in a green valley within a national park surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rockies. Water in its various forms has shaped the dramatic scenery and continues to create serene landscapes.
Tree-lined Lake Beauvert is the closest to town, but Pyramid and Patricia lakes are more famous thanks to the rugged peaks perfectly reflected in their still waters. Arguably the best of all is Maligne Lake whose incredible water colour is eclipsed by small, pine-lined Spirit Island. You may not know the name, but you’ll probably recognise the view.
Many glaciers come off the huge Columbia Icefield, roughly midway between Jasper and Lake Louise. Some have cut canyons where you can go ice walking. Other winter sports include ice skating and skiing at the Marmot Basin resort, named after local animals.
Bears inhabit the surrounding forests and more wildlife lives at The Den at Whistler Inn, just one Jasper accommodation option on Booking.com alongside mountain lodges and pet-friendly hotels with pools.
The Jasper Tramway – Canada’s highest cable car – goes to the top of The Whistlers mountain, and on the slopes of another are the Miette Hot Springs open-air pool. The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum details the area’s history, and traditional Haida styles and colours are celebrated in the modern Two Brothers Totem Pole
The lakes are worth seeing. There are several that are very photogenic - lake Annette for instance. The town itself is quite scenic, though nothing close to say the Austrian Tyrol. The SkyTrain is vastly overpriced for what it is.

Spectacular Jasper National Park offers you the opportunity to visit the Miette Hot Springs, Maligne Valley, Pyramid Lake Island, Mount Edith Cavell, the Icefields Parkway and of course wonderful shopping and dining experiences in the town of Jasper itself. The shop keepers are friendly and helpful and the town takes great pride in its appearance. There are some long travel distances between areas so it's best to check ahead to ensure the attractions you wish to see are open. Jasper is truly the crown jewel of the Canadian Rockies, hiding in plain sight!

Jasper is a cute and walkable little town.
Jasper is a cute and walkable little town. But note, it's little....a lot smaller than Canmore or the Banff towns. Places to stay are also limited in comparison. But the skiing at Marmot was top notch and not crowded at all especially when compared to Lake Louise, Norquay, or Sunshine.

I love Jasper. The mountains views are awe inspiring. As many times as I see them, the mountains continue to amaze me. Jasper still has the local small town feeling that other mountain towns have lost over the years. Many businesses are run by the owners rather than franchises.

Unfortunately the ski season was a bit down this year.
Unfortunately the ski season was a bit down this year. After really cold temps the week before we arrive, they experience warmer than average temps when we were their and snow quality was not real good. We still made the most of our visit by enjoying this winter wonderland and the sites that Jasper provides

To put the review in context, we were only in Jasper for a couple of days prior to the Winter Season to catch The Canadian to Toronto. This meant many of the major sites were not yet available to access. However, while there, what we discovered was a lovely small town that is the focal point for travelling to the beautiful areas in the vicinity. The people are very friendly and helpful and there are also plenty of excellent places to eat and drink.
It is worth the visit.
For the price of the hotel - $1000+ for two nights it was expensive. The room was large with a jacuzzi bath and sitting area but the decor is dated. The breakfast room was also basic but with a nice selection. Staff were nice and helpful. Location is about 15 min walk into town. The train track is close by so you do hear noise from that. A great base but very expensive - we are staying at The Fairmont in Whistler which is cheaper for the same duration. Jasper as a place is amazing and our best stop yet.
Loved the property! Pet friendly but the cabins have carpet 😳 we were assigned a cabin by the road. Had I known, would have asked to specifically book one behind the office/restaurant. Due to covid, hot springs were closed! Yay! Not droves of traffic and people. Wild life in the area. Beautiful country. The amenities and authentic Greek cuisine was a huge diamond in the rough. Pleasant experience. Hospitality was top notch! Thank you!
The cabins were so cozy and comfortable- walking through the door is like stepping into a Rocky Mountain fairytale. The amenities were perfect for a couple (or family), providing everything we needed for a 3 day stay while visiting Jasper National Park. Kitchenette was ideal for preparing meals, shower & bed were new and clean. The decorations made it feel like a home. 10/10 will stay here again!
Staff were absolutely amazing, were always happy to help and even offered local sight seeing so helped us plan what we could do there! The hotel is in a perfect location, other food locations, fuel and shops. 17 min walk from jasper Town too. Hotel is very clean. A lot of car parking areas. Great indoor swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The restaurant attached was very nice and good for price.
The front desk staff was polite, helpful and charming. The restaurant was good for breakfast. The nearness to the train depot was very handy. This fine, old hotel is beautiful to look at and stay in. The city of Jasper is a delight. Our train schedule left us with plenty of time to explore the city and enjoy it's amenities and character.
The cabins are super cozy. The fireplace was a nice touch, and even though the studio cabins are small, they are still comfortable. Everything was clean and looked very well-kept! The whole area is beautiful! Plus there is a brewery and a pizza food truck close by (you can walk there from the cabins, and their patio is pet friendly!)
This is in Jasper National park - so if you are spending most of your time away from the room, returning to a tiny room at the end of the day, and enjoying a comfortable king-size bed, will be as good for you as it was for me. I had a chance to enjoy both the restaurant as well as the lounge.
The location is perfect close to jasper national park took us 10min to the park
The reception staff were very efficient our room cards were ready before we arrived the restaurant staff were friendly and pleasant overall we loved the stay thank you we shall return 😊
The room was spacious. The beds were comfortable. There was a fridge in the room. The cable TV was okay. The room was quiet. She checked us in early. All rooms are pet friendly rooms so pets are not relegated to one section of the hotel.
The hotel was amazing with a view of the mountains. It also has outdoor hot tubs which is awesome. Within walking distance of downtown Jasper where we found everything we needed and more.
Location is perfect, in the heart of downtown Jasper. It seems to be a really well run hostel and the workers were all very friendly. I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again
Meg at the front desk gave the absolute best advice on what to do in Jasper. Stay here just for Meg. I stay at hotels ~100 nights per year and her suggestion made this trip.
We went to visit our daughter who is working in Jasper for the summer . Was so happy with the loft room and the service within the hotel. We loved everything
Very affordable hotel in Jasper. It’s just ok for one or two nights. The only good thing is that it is not expensive.
Our room was quiet. That’s a plus.
