Shelburne is the prettiest town along Nova Scotia's south shore with a beautifully maintained historic waterfront. It is much smaller than Lunenburg but quieter and better located for visiting all the South Shore, most everything within an hour's drive: other towns and villages, sandy beaches, great seafood. Cooper's Inn is among the very best historic B&B's we have stayed at. Charlotte Lane Cafe is quite small but the food is superb.

Shelburne is rather a mixed bag.
Shelburne is rather a mixed bag. Waterfront is interesting and generally attractive.
Some of the old houses in town have been very well restored, others are badly in need of repair. Major commercial operations are fortunately out of town, but still conveniently located. The only buildings out of character are the banks - as usual in the Maritimes.
The local town council and Chamber of Commerce need to get their acts together. Shelburne could be as attractive and dynamic as St Andrews in New Brunswick!!

This is an historic old town with a great harbour.
This is an historic old town with a great harbour. It has old buildings and has been used for movie sets. There is a dory museum and the fantastic Black Loyalist Museum in Birchtown. The waterfront is great for walking.
And you have to eat at Charlotte's Lane.

Shelburne is a very. very. very quiet town.
Shelburne is a very. very. very quiet town. Only one place to get food or drink-"Boxing Rock" and it is very limited with food and felt more like a community centre than pub. Historic museum village on waterfront but no amenities at all. Yacht club at end but members only!!!!!
Much better places to visit in NS, personally wouldn't recommend this place. AVOID!

Shelburne is a very pretty town.
Shelburne is a very pretty town. We basically used this area as 'home base" for travelling around the South Shore of Nova Scotia. We did walk (2 minutes from our Motel) to Boxing Rock for supper one evening and we walked (10 minutes) to the brand new Emerald Light Restaurant the other evening. Both facilities were great. Very nice people and great food.

Shelburne is a quaint little town on Nova Scotia's south shore. We were only there for the accommodations, as we were just looking for an affordable place to spend the night as we had been tenting and the weather had turned. Would definately recommend putting this little village on places to visit on the south shore.

Everything. Stephanie is a beautifully warm host and always does what she can to help. Recommendations for dinner, coffee and local area. The location is awesome with some views right on the water, which we were lucky to get. The rooms are very roomy and individual. The coffee, tea station is very useful, non of the usual hotel sachet coffee which is great and mustn’t forget the home baked cookies. An absolute gem of a place 🤩

Wonderful house in a great location near to Shelburne, with the beaches and history nearby. House was really comfortable and spacious with a fire pit out back for marshmallows. We enjoyed the games in the evening (and the chocolates left for us by the hosts).

It's a great place to stay. It was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. A great vintage home feel but with modern amenities. It is located in the middle of the town of Shelburne and is close to whatever Shelburne has to offer.

We immediately felt at home and started to talk about when we can return. Not only is it a perfect location for day trips to Barrington and Shelburne but there are amazing beaches a short drive away.

The Cooper's Inn is a lovely old Inn perfectly located in the heart of Shelburne's historic district. Very comfortable room, great breakfast and welcoming host.
