Small 'linear village' along the coast, it all reminds me a lot of Africa. It is a strip of crowded beach, full of bars and restaurants. Muddy road parallel behind it, with some basic shops. People walking barefoot. All hostals are directly on the beach. Lots of restaurants. Beautiful sunsets. Things to do: good dive school, speed boats with banana rides, trips to islands, kayaks, etc. I would recommend it not for critical travelers looking for quality hotels, but probably for younger foreign travelers looking to party on the beach, and families with children. It is still relatively unknown to foreigners, so most people you see are Colombian families, which I like.

Very nice beaches with small lapping waves.

Very nice beaches with small lapping waves. Be sure to cross the foot bridge and go for a walk on the wild beach, lots of shells to be found. Excellent food. My favourite spot for a beer was a small tienda on the main street with about 4 tables, a great spot to get a feel of the every day life.

Rincon is very remote and genuine, full of Colombian tourists. So full of bars and music but in a lowsy way. I would recommend to stay in a hotel on the beach to feel the atmosphere, such as Mamallena hotel.

Rincon is a real paradise!

Rincon is a real paradise! The beaches are incredibly beautiful and calm. There's so much nature around and lovely birds flying all over the place. To get there is quite easy from San Onofre by taking a motorcycle or a Tuk-Tuk.

Rincon is a humble town of poor people, traditional fishermen, the cabins and hostels are simple, the people are very warm and friendly, there is no aqueduct service so they all use well water, it is a place to rest and disconnect. Rincon really is a place that you would never want to leave.
