Burgen is a very small town; more like a suburb.
Burgen is a very small town; more like a suburb. It was very very quiet there during the school holidays, with the handful of eateries only open mid-late in the week. We arrived on a Saturday and things were mostly closed until Tuesday, only opening back up on Wednesday. No grocery shopping options in town, but there is a nice big Edeka 10-15min drive away.Guest review byMaikeGermany

And two ladies were waiting for us there. That was really nice because in that region generally the staff of such kind of otels are leaving the place after 6-7PM. The breakfast was really good. It was a typical traditional German gasthof and I really liked it. The area is was silent and surraounded by forests. Breakfast was simply superb. The room was spacious and comfortable. Lovely comfy beds and a huge shower. Whilst Burgen is quiet, it's a perfect base for touring, with Cochem, Koblenz, the Hunsruck and the Eiffel all nearby. As a bonus the owner's English was much better than my German!
