I book usually 40-50 hotels p.year due to my profession and the Noxx Hotel ranks amongs one the best I have ever stayed in. Professional & friendly staff, excellent 24/7 gym (for me that's an important feature) and a very comfortable room make it a top-notch choice for business travellers like me. We really enjoyed our visit and were positively surprised to learn about the history of the town. Tip no. 1 - the Elisabeth Cafe close to the Elisabeth Church is fabulous. Tip no. 2 - if you were hoping to see St Elisabeth's shrine in the church ask to purchase a ticket at the entrance because it isn't immediately apparent where it is (there are ongoing restorations) - truly beautiful. There are short services (15 minutes) during the week at lunchtime - also lovely if you like that kind of thing.

Marburg is very pretty and I found lots of walks most are uphill so you have to be fit. there is a river Elizabeth church and a castle on the top of the hill, although I never got there. there is also a botanical garden to see and the oldtown is lovely. the bus service is very reliable.

Lovely place, well worth a visit.

Lovely place, well worth a visit. Traffic regime in town a bit chaotic due to 'green' local policies, but sufficient parking for those who can find it. Mind the traffic calming measures/cycling lanes. Beautiful gothic Church of St. Elisabeth, historic town centre with old university buildings, lovely restaurants and some very nice shops. Gorgeous views from the well-preserved castle but hills quite steep with many steps. Lots of students with active night-life during term time. Beautiful surrounding area, perfect for walks and cycling. Superb, large Botanical Gardens with nice café (note the short opening times, though).

It is a historic university town, overlooked by a 13th...

It is a historic university town, overlooked by a 13th century castle. Hilly but full of architectural gems from a 13th century church to a 16th century Town Hall and countless half-timbered 16/17th houses in the Old Town, having escaped any serious damage during WW2. A day and an overnight stay, I would say, is essential.

It was so easy to stroll through Marburg and access anything from the botanic gardens to shops and riverside cafes. The shops are interesting and not of the chain store variety which added to the charm. The architecture is amazing . The business people of this city were helpful and friendly. Eating places are easy to find.

good, I would recommend for the accommodation to Hostel...

good, I would recommend for the accommodation to Hostel Marburg one. it is on the first floor of the main station and everything is the best. you can easily just leave your staff there where you don't need to carry for long distance that is very easy especially for those who have long travel to get there.

Breakfast was good. But, there was no changes in everyday menu except some fresh fruits. The location was really, really good. In front of the hotel, there were elevators with direct access from basement to old town on the hill. Within 15 minutes, almost every spots could be reached. If you have an idea with walking trip in Marburg, this can be very useful solution.

We spent 1 night here and the location is great. Short walk to the old town then up the hill to the castle. Plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel. The hotel is quite quirky and the rooms are decorated interestingly. There is a common kitchen which was nice to make a cup of tea. We would stay here again.
