Almunecar is fantastic, we come here every year at least once and have been doing so for over 20yrs, the people are great, the town is so quiet and nice and we love the tapas, el petete is our favourite for tapas. The town is on the coast and beaches are plentiful and not crowded during the times we go (sept). all of the bars serve tapas with drinks and it's a lottery on what you get which adds to the magic and mystery of the town. Getting to the town from malaga means a car hire but parking is plentiful and free. we hired a car, got to the town parked and never used the car again other than getting back to the airport. a transfer bus might be a better idea if there are any. all in all, I will continue to come to Almunecar for as long as im able to; we love it!Guest review byGEORGEUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Almuñécar is a beautiful little town, still unspoiled by too fancy tourist facilities. It has that beautiful Mediterranean feeling, a peaceful life sense, and a slow pace that can only be enjoyed. It is an enjoyable place for a vacation, and certainly a great place for families with kids. It is a very friendly town, we like to get down the small streets and passageways and enjoy a beer in the plazas, you get a tapa included in the price of a drink. There is 2 beaches both are good. Almunecar is a sprawling resort town divided into several shingle beaches. The hotels tend to be large and well managed. There are many bar and restaurants and a few souvenir shops, but not a lot else. If you have a car or are cycling the mountains and their villages are easily accessible. If you do not have transport there is not much to do apart from walking and going to the beach. Remember that in this province all alcoholic drinks are served with free tapas. This means that tapas bars are not easily located. Drinks prices are slightly higher to accommodate this custom.Guest review byCarole MaySpain

The food was good, nice range of options, with quality in comparison with other beach hotels that we've stayed in. The suites at the top with the Jacuzzi are amazing: a large terrace with pool chairs, table and chairs, with a magnificent view for the sea and the bay.
