Stunning area. We visited in early spring.
Stunning area. We visited in early spring. Beautiful lush green of the hills and some trees, and snow capped mountains everywhere. Quiet and peaceful time to visit with little tourists around. Snow still falling up on the mountains at Fuente de. Highly recommend. The drive up to Espinama is currently being repaired, but driving up through the valley alongside the river. A charming little town in an incredible national park.
A charming little town in an incredible national park. Apart from initially having trouble with parking, we were visiting outside peak tourist season, so not too difficult. There's only a few streets to explore in Espinama, which is all part of it's charm. Most are original/older buildings with a few newer ones, sympathetically built to complement the town. Enroute for the camino. Just lovely and we far preferred it to the large lodge up the road. We felt like we were staying in "Spain proper." We had an evening meal at Bar Máximo, on the main road. The artichokes for a started and peppers stuff with Hake. Excellent food, friendly and attentive staff.
