Rota, on the Costa de la Luz is a great spot for a beach holiday. Several good hotels right on beach. Town is small, but lively. Friendly folks, good tapas everywhere. Not on the beaten path, not on the Mediterranean, but a nice ferry to ride to Cadiz, short drive to Jerez de la Frontera or Sanlucar. Enjoy!Guest review byCarolUnited States - 8.0

Rota is a small town and every place was in walking distance. If you stayed outside the town there seemed to be a very regular bus service. It was lovely to stop at the little cafes around and have a cup of coffee and a roll for breakfast at inexpensive cost. In the evening time there are lovely restaurants which ranged from tapas and a full meal whatever your wish. It is a real Spanish town on the coast with lovely groomed beaches and friendly people. It is close to other big centres like Cadiz, Jerez. Puerto de Santa María and Chipiona.Guest review byCharlie - 8.0

I think Rota is a cute town. There's enough to do for a getaway either as a single, or even with a partner or family. I have been to Rota three times within a single month and I would definitely go back. One of my favorite places to enjoy brunch was a restaurtant named Oklahomas. The food is so delicous. Despite superb sandy beaches and a nice old city centre Rota is not over-exploited as a tourist destination. It is a rather quiet town, ideal for a restful vacation, and small enough to be able to reach most places by foot.
