The location was great for finishing the Camino de Santiago.
It was a five minute walk from the centre and easy to find.
We ended up staying here for three nights as we couldn’t book a flight home. The gentleman on reception desk spoke English and was more than helpful in changing our room and he did this twice for us. We were able to leave our bags in the luggage port whenever we needed to. The day we departed the lady on the desk helped with reserving our taxi to the airport, she also spoke English and helped with our translation. Breakfast at the hotel was great and we would recommend including this in your reservation as it sets you up for the day. The hosts at breakfast are all friendly and helpful.
We were happy that our rooms were clean and comfortable and had TV and hair dryer, not newly refurbished but everything you need for a good night sleep, which is most important to us.

The location was perfect for two leg-weary pilgrims. The proximity to the Cathedral, the old town, restaurants & cafes was perfect. The staff were very helpful in allowing us to drop our bags off prior to check-in and arrange a taxi to the airport for our departure. The room overlooked the street, but was quiet due to the double-glazed windows. I would definitely stay here again.

The final destination of the Medieval pilgrimage route (El Camino de Santiago), this city is the best place to enjoy fresh fish and traditional Galician bread. Gorgeous old town with lots of lovely restaurants.
Gorgeous old town with lots of lovely restaurants.
Final town on the El Camino hike and well worth it!
Very hilly and lots of cobble stones/steps so might not be appropriate for less able bodied people.

I absolutely loved this area.
I absolutely loved this area. Santiago de Compostela has everything you could ask for-culture, great food and friendly people. It was picturesque and clean. In addition it was a great base from which to easily visit other areas. It is a city I could return to again and again. We were here during off season so not sure if high season would be as pleasant.

The room was great, and the bath a very welcome piece of luxury after the Camino. Staff were very helpful and went out of their way to assist.
The main weakness was the breakfast, which I would call “ just ok”, and I had expected more.
The hotel was a little further than i thought from the cathedral and the main restaurant strip, but still an easy walk.

Lovely city.
Lovely city. Impressive main square and very impressive cathedral; fairly compact. Old town great: loads of eateries - specially down Franco St but many elsewhere. Finding tourist information office needs a little determination but very helpful when you succeed. Many good tours reasonably priced -especially Ria Basis and also Finisterre tour. You can easily get to La Coruña by train on your own but turn up a bit early because there may be a few security checks. Not an expensive place for a major tourist destination.

Santiago de Compostela is a nice place to visit but way more crowded than I anticipated. Suggest pre booking tickets to things you want to see. The cathedral and museum was wonderful. Also, suggest reviewing restaurant options and make reservations early for popular places. And pre-arrange a taxi two days prior to airport departure. If arriving by bus also pre-arrange a taxi.

We loved everything about Hostal Suso! It has top boutique hotel standards all while being cozy and small and perfectly located in the old town, just a few minutes walk from the cathedral. There is a bar downstairs where you have a discount for breakfast and where the portions are huge and delicious, and many great must visit bars are close by. The staff was beyond helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything was impeccably clean and well maintained. Would recommend to everyone coming to Santiago.
We stayed for 2 nights during our 3-week trip to Spain. The apartment itself was adequate for our needs. Lots of room with 2 bedrooms. We used the second bedroom to store our luggage. We appreciated the washing machine. The kitchen is nicely outfitted but we just used the refrigerator. Lots of windows and daylight. The space was good for the two of us - room to spread out. The location was excellent - we were able to walk to everything. We did have a car and there was a parking garage just a few minutes away. All very convenient.
Location cannot be beat, a two minute walk from the back door of the cathedral right in the heart of old town pedestrian Santiago. Plus even though it’s close to things, it’s on a quiet square and you can get out of the busyness during tourist and pilgrim season. Especially enjoyed sitting in the garden when I wanted a break from the busyness of the city.
I did breakfast as part of my rate and it was excellent each morning. My room had a beautiful view also of the square that the hotel sits on.
Buenas dias! Leaving santiago now. Pleasantly surprised, Santa Filomena is even nice than the citadines shinjuku tokyo!!! Newly renovated, modern, super clean, very comfy big beds, smart hotel & average size rooms. Just infront of the bus stop & few steps away to seafood market & restos & bars. Walkable to cathedral & old town square. Personally managed by siblings Avelino & Eva who are both very nice. Fully booked din sila. Thanks God, overall, had great stay in Santiago.
I needed a one-night stay and wanted it to be in the centre. I chose this place because of good rating score by previous guests and it still exceeded my expectations! The location is great, the room had everything I needed and the breakfast was very good, and considering the low price, it really was a positive surprise! AND it was the first hotel that really managed to satisfy my special request of a flat soft pillow (it otherwise seems impossible request in Spain).
Perfect hotel to enjoy Santiago after the Camino. I stayed for 4 nights and loved it, the room was clean, beautiful and simple. Lovely dark wood and a nice view from the window. The shared bathroom was good and only shared with another single room. Location is excellent, you cross the road and are at the market and inside the centre of the old town, 5 ish minute walk to the cathedral. Also really close to Rua De San Pedro with lots of cafes and restaurants.
We chose the location because it was close to the airport. We were surprised how pretty the rooms were. Our room was nicer than the picture. Very clean with high end towels and bedding. Elana speaks English well and offered to call a cab before we even requested it. She also made us a nice early (for Spain) dinner which was great since we were so exhausted from walking the Camino.
The hotel is in perfect location for us. Walked part of the Camino Norte, then took ALSA bus into Santiago. Hotel between bus station and southern edge of old town, so could drop off backpacks before entering city. Very good breakfast at Cafe Alabama, 3 min walk away. The A6 bus stop to the airport is 4 min walk. Room and bathroom perfect for the Camino. Solid value
Best lodging on the Camino! Small boutique hotel in a fantastic location in Santiago. We will be staying here when we are next in Santiago. A little slice of heaven. Outstanding owners and staff, fabulous cafe/bar downstairs with just what you want to eat after weeks on the Camino, super comfy beds, view from the 3rd floor. Hated to leave.
Great location in the middle of the city centre. BUT NO NOISE, since the windows have a lot of insulation. There's air conditioning (which is not as common as you would think in Spain), very helpful staff (even if most contact is virtual), there is even luggage storage.
Fantastic rooms and very good quality/price ratio.
Located in the small village of San Marcos which really has very few amenities but close enough to Santiago de Compostela that we could walk into the city to complete our Camino Frances and still have time to get our Compostelas and attend mass at the Cathedral. Hotel was quiet and comfortable.
Lovely hotel with a very nice feeling to it, right across from the cathedral. We were always comfortable and very much enjoyed our time here. The building is itself was a joy to explore, rich with history and atmosphere. Excellent location in the old town of Santiago de Compostela.
The location was fabulous, the hotel staff speaks English and is friendly and helpful, and the room and beds are very comfortable. The architecture and furnishings are beautiful, harmonious, and create an atmosphere of old Spain The breakfast was the best we had on the Camino.
The hotel is a fabulous to stay, exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms.
All the staff are so helpful and friendly from check- in to check out. Will stay here if we ever return to Santiago. Best location with easy access to the tourist spots and restaurants.
This is a reasonably modern hotel with all the must have facilities and amenities of old school hotels. For the money this is 1 of the best hotels we've been in in Spain. It suited a couple of Pilgrims just in off the trail after walking from Saint John.
Very efficient. We arrived very late, close to midnight and we had all the details of how to access the hotel and our room. The room was so inviting after a long day at work and then a late flight out to Spain.
Beautiful hotel ideally located for the old town of Santiago de Compostela. The brickwork was really unusual and the room we stayed in was huge! Beds extremely comfortable and the staff very helpful.
The staff at Rua Villar is unequaled! The hotel is in the best location imaginable in Santiago. The breakfasts were varied and abundant. You can’t go wrong with this hotel . Highly recommended.
The best location in Santiago. The friendliness and service of the staff is outstanding.
The breakfast buffet has no equal as compared to all places I have stayed at in Spain.
Very nice hotel just a few steps from Santiago Cathedral. Room spotless clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful personnel. I would highly recommend this hotel.
