El Cotillo is a beautiful village that we have been visiting for 18 years now. It is not full of karaoke bars and English pubs as we like to experience the local culture. There are many restaurants to try out and all of good quality and reasonable prices. The locals do appreciate if you attempt to speak their language which we always do as I think it is a respectful thing to do. My only concern for this amazing village is the number of new apartments they are now building and whether the charms of the village will be overtaken by large scale tourism.
Excellent resort for us, a 50/60s couple who enjoy relaxing on the beach followed by good choice of restaurants with access to a decent supermarket. Enjoyed eating out, of particular note were Santa Ana-cod, Las Cazuelitas-sea bass, Pizzeria Marameo-spiced meat lasagne, The only place we eat twice was Los Cazadores -beef with teriyaki and the steak with mushroom sauce- a hole in the wall place frequented by locals. It is though also really good for those with children, sandy beaches, sheltered swimming but with bikes, surfing available. Easy driving from the airport, on a bus route, available via coach transfer companies, we use Hoppa. Easy to walk across town, for us about 20 minutes slight rise/slope -not a hill-going south, most noticeable by old harbour but all accessible. Town sandwiched by the different style beaches. May be considered quiet in the evening by those seeking live music/dancing.
We very much liked the old part of town, especially the area with restaurants and bars around the cove. We ate extremely well (twice) at the Blue Cow and the smaller place with outside tables facing the sea. It was only a ten minute walk from the much more built up area where we stayed, which was full of holiday rentals, hotels and ex-pat homes. The town clearly attracts loads of surfers, many of whom stay in campervans which are parked all over town and round the cliffs. There is quite a hippy feel to parts of town.
El Cotillo is clearly an up and coming resort and has grown in the few years we have been visiting. It's popular with surfers and there are lots of bars and restaurants, but it is much smaller and less busy than Corralejo just across the island. Being on the West side of the island, it also gets the sunsets unlike Corralejo. There are plenty of beaches to choose from depending on what you are after, some with lovely golden sand. There are naturist beach options to the north and south. Some beaches are suitable for surfing, but the big waves limit swimming options. There is a Friday evening craft market in El Cotillo, and two or three supermarkets. It's very popular with motorhomes and camper vans - they are parked up all around the town.
Local fishing town with great restaurants and bars. Amazing sunset views and access to golden sandy beaches to the north and south of town. Would highly recommend Olivo Corso, Pez Gordo (dinner booking required) and Tritons Coffee Lab for places to eat.
Evening sunsets over the cliffs or choose two harbours. A few nice restaurants and bars. So far unspoilt by tourism, but very much caters for tourists. A Super Dino supermarket provided everything for the self catered. Also a Spar supermarket in the centre of town. Fantastic walks all around. Surfing everywhere.
Cotillo
Loved the location and the view excellent. Clean and modern, off a very high standard best we’ve seen so far in El Cotillo. Everything you require for a self catering stay made easy with the apartments faculties. Quiet and very safe. Loved the info pack great suggestions of your likes maybe a map of the restaurant in the town highlighting there locations. The apartments situ is a two minute walk to the beach in front of the apartment and 10min to the main lagoons beach. Just what we were looking for and would recommended to our friends.
Monica is the best host you can imagine, she makes your stay special, she cares for every detail to ensure you have a wonderful stay in El Cotillo and in Fuerteventura in general. Only 4 rooms, extremely clean. Beautiful terrace to enjoy morning coffee. A relaxed place in a relaxed village, El Cotillo, which also has a lot of bars and restaurants to enjoy. Magical sunsets in this little heaven, totally recommended instead of less charming places like Corralejo. Thanks so much, Monica! we'll be back for sure :)
Cotillo
Very clean and had everything inside you need. We were lucky as our apartment got the sun in the morning on our terrace at the back and in the evening on our terrace at the front. Didn't use the pool area as it wasn't all that spacious but the beaches are so beautiful and an easy walk. We used the public bus to get here but worth bearing in mind the 2.15pm one to Cotillo takes over 2hrs as its also the school bus; the 9.30am one back to the bus station took only an hour.
Cotillo
Exceptionally clean and spacious house with everything one could want for in a holiday and more. Conveniently positioned in the centre of town with easy access to the wonderful beaches and restaurants that El Cotillo has to offer. We stayed here for 7 days but really wished we could have stayed here for a lot longer, and we shall definitely be returning.

Very clean and Nice studio. Parking spots in front of the door and very close to the supermarket, surfrental and restaurants. Nice view, good beds and very nice shower. El Cotillo is a very nice town and is perfect for surfing and being off grid for a bit. Better than busy Corralejo.
Location is perfect. Near the child friendly beach and walking distance into Cotillo. We had everything we needed for cooking-unlike other reviews. We have stayed several times in Cotillo and this is our favourite and we will certainly book again.
Really enjoyed our 3 week stay. The apartment is obviously loved and well maintained by the owner. Everything was as if home from home, so well equipped. Great views from rooftop. Easy walking into village. Great beaches around El Cotillo too.
Staff and reception were exceptional and super kind. The location is perfect, walking distance from the beach, close to main facilities, restaurants and stores. Pool and restaurant on the rooftop were amazing and very relaxing

Have stayed in a few apartments in this complex and this was the best equipped so far. Having the sunbed to use on beach was absolute luxury.
