A beautiful hotel in the middle of nowhere, with beautiful surroundings and a very nice restaurant. The staff was very friendly and although the kitchen in the restaurant was going to close (22:00), they agreed to still serve us (21:30), and we were able to have dinner.

We has an amazing stay at the hotel, the hosts were extremely helpful even taking into account our unfortunate flight delay they've managed to check us in way after reception working hours, this was so kind, thank you! The room had everything we need, the bathtub was a bliss after days of hiking and the breakfast was very good - especially fresh juices <3

El Sombrerito is filled with all kinds of vintage tools and equipment, ranging from film projector used in cinemas to mechanical scales and agriculture tools. Great dinner. Accomodation pretty basic, but more then enough for hikers. Really cosy atmosphere.

The villa is situated away from the main tourist area which we prefer, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and toiletries etc are provided enabling you to pack lighter. The pool is lovely and cleaned regulary. Keyla is a great host with nothing being too much trouble. A car is essential as there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance. We stayed for three weeks and had a great time.

    Cosy village, with some good restaurants.

    Cosy village, with some good restaurants. Ideally positioned to go to the Teide National Park. Please keep in mind it is at 1400 m, in the forestal corona, so there is often fog, might rain a bit, and fresh temperatures, so get good clothes. When you go down to the coast, or up to the Teide, the sun reappears, typical phenomenon of the Canaries, it is part of the experience !

    Vilaflor is half way up to the caldera Las Cañadas from the tourist hell resorts at the S coast. Can be a bit fresh/chilly in the evenings depending on the season. Several restaurants, bars, bakeries and small supermarkets = everything that you need.

    Amazing little town, perfect for a getaway from all the busy seaside resorts. Has a pleasant atmosphere, nice restaurants and cafés and an ideal location for hikes in the area. I was thru-hiking the GR131.

    I’m not sure if there’s anything else to do in Vilaflor than...

    I’m not sure if there’s anything else to do in Vilaflor than the hiking trails, mountains and forest. Especially at weekends, everything is closed - shops (only local), restaurants, no people outside, the main square is surprisingly steep and in the middle is overgrown greenery like garden which makes impossible to take a photo of the centre of the village. Two churches may be open at times. Good parking lot by the churches, but the village is long, winding, steep, spreading sideways, hard to say where it begins and ends. And in January it’s really from chilly to freezing, unlike the coast.

    The location was lovely - half way up El Teide with adjacent pine forests for walking and easy access to the National Park. The village has several good restaurants although they tend to close early. The accommodation is very basic and most rooms have poor facilities - best for a one or perhaps two night stay. For birders: easy to see canary, blue chaffinch and Berthelot's pipit

    Wonderful little village so high up in the mountains, lots of sunshine and clean air, beautiful hiking trails around and great to see the canary pine forest, lovely bakery and little restaurants , perfect as a base to explore the national park or just to relax and reconnect with nature

    This is a great location if you want to get up to the Teide national park. I went for dark skies and astronomy and the drive up to good observing spots only takes 15-20 minutes from here. There is lots of good hiking too. The hotel has great views and very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and warm (important at this altitude in January). I ate one evening in the restaurant and the food was very good. The breakfast is basic but fine. Overall a very positive experience and I'll be booking again in the future.

    Vilaflor is out of the turistic zone, closed to Teide Park, basically in the middle between beaches and Teide. For us, it was a great location to combine hiking in Teide Park with swimming on the south beaches. The house is a big typical canarian house, with the terrace on the roof where we could watch the stars, which was very nice. There was everything we needed for our family. The communication with the host was easy, checking in /checkout without physical contact, but we were in contact by phone.

    Excellent location in the beautiful mountain village of Vilaflor. Easy access for lots of hiking. Cleanliness of the hotel was immaculate, rooms were beautiful and very spacious. The food in the restaurant was incredible and the quality of the food was fantastic. Plenty of choice on the menu including local dishes. Breakfast was excellent and varied.

    This is an excellent mountain spa hotel with great staff who make it special. Great spa facilities in the hotel and walks nearby, highly recommend. Used as a launch into Tiede National Park.
