    I’m my opinion The Faroe Islands are not a holiday...

    I’m my opinion The Faroe Islands are not a holiday destination, but rather activity one. The weather is very changeable one minute to the next, and the beaches are all black sand, or volcanic dust, not ideal for sunbathing. The islands are quite small and most places of interest can be visited in no more that two days. Having said that the people are very nice and friendly, and if you want a hiking break they are ideal. I only stayed three full days, but saw all the islands in that time. Would I recommend the Islands, well yes but know where you are going and what type of break you want.

    Great restaurants with three Michelin-rated restaurants in town. Lots of fine dining choices. We visited a few of the other islands. Great if you like hiking and natural beauty and serenity. If you are looking for “exciting” things to do or tons of shopping, then this might not be the place for you.

    A very underrated capital.

    A very underrated capital. There's so much to do with plenty of nice places to walk (including a park), an art museum to visit, and so many shops and restaurants to go to. The public transport options are great, whether you want to get around the city or go to another place.

    Torshavn is one of the smallest capitals, yet has surprisingly a lot to offer. Beautiful natural areas are abundant! Great coffee places, little shops, modern art. I have been already twice in Torshavn.

    Tórshavn is the capital but a very small town.

    Tórshavn is the capital but a very small town. There aren't many restaurants or things to do. The museum and gallery (one of each) are good but small. Each charge an entry fee. The town is walkable, and it was nice to explore the old government area on the harbour. There are some nice cafes. We found the local people to be unused to tourism. They were not especially welcoming, and not everyone spoke English in shops or cafes (I don't speak Faroese). I think the Faroes have some way to go before they are ready to embrace full-on tourism. They are a little 'rough' in handling non-locals - no welcome greeting in a restaurant was commonplace. Tórshavn does have a small mall called SMS which is pleasant but there isn't much there if you're used to a larger city. Don't go to the Faroes and expect an abundance of culture to enjoy; go for the outdoors. Go to hike and drive across the wilderness. Boat trips are over-priced. You have to hire a car to go and see more of the Faroes. It is expensive to drive through the toll tunnels from island to island - in one week we spent GBP 240 on tolls. There aren't many flights to and from Tórshavn from Edinburgh - twice per week. We should have done 3 days instead of 7 days.

    Perfect accommodation to explore the Faroe Islands - A parking space was available, the flat is clean with plenty of utensils to cook, location 10 min walk from Torshavn city center, interior is very nice with lots of useful information about the islands and how to explore them best and on top of that easy and flexible check-in procedure paired with great communication with the host The price was more than fair and I recommend it to everyone who wants to explore these beautiful islands! Overall an amazing stay

    We got married on Faroe Islands. This was the largest house for us and our friends I could find in the vicinity of Tórshavn and it couldn't have been better. We enjoyed sharing time as a group together and still all rooms had enough privacy to retreat. The large kitchen and dining room were perfect for breakfasts together before our daily activities and to hang out at the end of the day. Very well equipped kitchen. A bus stop and a good amount of free public parking is right by the house.

    The property was clean, comfortable and had a decent kitchen for self-catering. It has a large smart TV, good wifi & a comfy sofa for when staying in. The apartment was sound-proofed so very quiet. It is well-located a few mins walk from the harbour and shops & restaurants with a great bakery and small supermarket within the same block. With parking right outside and being close to the route out of Torshavn it was really easy to come and go. Highly recommended!

    Perfectly equipped apartment in a quiet area 10mins from the centre of Torshavn. Friendly hosts. 2 good-sized bedrooms. Good shower. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. The price was good for Torshavn. Good views over town from the living room. Sheep grazing a few metres from the bedroom window. The Faroes are stunning…we hope to come back to explore more…

    Breakfast was superb. Dinner was also good. Location in the centre of town was superb. The lady at the front desk was most helpful. The view from our room window of Torshavn cathedral was an unexpected bonus.
